No Swimming in Ocean Today per Horry County

Horry County Beach Patrol will re-evaluate for Sunday.

"It's rough out there," explained Duke Brown, Beach Safety Director with Horry County Beach Patrol. "We're asking swimmers to stay OUT OF THE WATER due to safety concerns and strong currents." HCBP will monitor the beach today and reconsider after seeing how the surf and ocean conditions are tomorrow (Sunday, May 28th).

The system off the coast is producing rough surf conditions. Waves building to 3-5" feet, and the Rip Current Risk is HIGH (see below). Things settle down Sunday into Monday.
