Welcome to The Lazy Bear! We purchased this home with a desire to hibernate and just simply get away from the hustle and bustle of life! There are many things we love about this house, the fireplace, firepit, deck, “BARage”, but the location certainly tops our list. While hibernating at The Lazy Bear you are central to so many activities, we hope you enjoy the Links, Lakes and Land as much as we do!
Links
You are nestled right on Lake Arrowhead Association. This location is a golfer’s dream and the home of the rapidly expanding Sand Valley and Lake Arrowhead golf courses. A small trail right out the back yard brings you to the Lake Arrowhead Clubhouse and Pines course, just a 9-iron away. This is a great place for the golf enthusiast. The Lakes course is just a short jaunt away, and Sand Valley’s 3 courses are also within a few miles.
Lakes
Within 5 miles, you can visit Lake Arrowhead, Camelot, Sherwood and Petenwell. So, whether you are a seasoned angler or enjoy swimming and boating, this is the place for you. Lake Petenwell is Wisconsin’s second largest body of water, over 23,000 acres, with 15 boat landings. There is plenty of water to enjoy watersports and fishing throughout the year. Fish include; Panfish, walleye, musky, bass, northern pike, sturgeon and catfish. Bring your own boat, or rent one from a local business.
Land
With an abundance of land, there is hiking, biking, tennis, trap shooting, bird watching, and more. Most roads in the town of Rome and surrounding areas are open to ATV/UTV riders. Additionally, there is 230 miles of state funded, well groomed, trails for both ATV/UTVs and snowmobiles. The fun doesn’t end when the weather changes. Bring your cross- country skis, ice fishing gear and snowmobiles for a winter getaway.
