The flame for the 2024 Paris Olympics has been lit in Olympia, the birthplace of the ancient Olympics. The flame will now begin its journey in a relay to light the cauldron that will mark the opening for the Summer Games in July.

As you may know the summer Olympics will be taking place in Paris France this summer.

But what’s really cool is that the Olympic Flame Lighting ceremony always gets lit in Athens at the Temple of Hera Ancient Olympia.

The ceremony starts off on the 16th and travels thru Greece until the 26th which it will depart from Greece to somewhere else.

I followed the route and we will be in one location at the same time.

20 April: Acropolis – Athens – Olympic Stadium – Ancient Delphi – Lamia – Volos

This is the day we board the ship. But be on the look out. I hope to view it.

Did anyone catch a glimpse of the torch while it traveled down 61 on the way to ATL in 1996?
