So next year is the 60th anniversary of the release of the Sound of Music. The city of Salzburg will be having events and activities a year long to celebrate, including a new Sound of Music museum. Today I went to a luncheon at the Austrian Embassy highlighting the beauty of Salzburg and celebrating the movie. I sat between Kristina Hammer, President of the Salzburg Festival, and Kristina von Trapp, Director and VP of the Trapp Family Lodge and granddaughter of Georg and Maria von Trapp. It was fun talking to her and learning the real history of the family and about the gorgeous resort in Stowe, VT.
