Huge thanks to and friends old and new who joined us for the Run last year! We celebrated freedom and explored the African American history of New York from Columbus Circle to the Battery. Pleased to say that no one got lost and our two groups managed to arrive where needed at the same time.
I believe the run gave everyone a deeper feel for the triumphs and tribulations of Blacks, free and enslaved over the past 400 years and gave us greater insights into the history of our city and the USA.

Some of the heroes of Abolition were white. As editor of New York’s then leading newspaper, William Cullen Bryant fought for decades to end slavery. We’ll visit Bryant on the Juneteenth Run in the Park that bears his name.
