As many of you know, my former restaurant By Chloe was co-opted by a deceitful partner in 2017. It was an abrupt halt to what had otherwise been a magical experience. I still remember leaving our flagship store for the last time and feeling an overwhelming sense of unease. It didn’t seem right to mourn the end when I knew, deep down, that I had only just begun. Standing on the corner of Bleecker and MacDougal, I promised myself that someday, somehow, I would return. And when I did, it would be on my own terms.
 
Well… that day has come!!
 
I’m beyond ecstatic to announce the official grand opening of my new restaurant, CHLOE—located at 185 Bleecker Street, the same corner where I opened By Chloe exactly nine years ago. CHLOE is an all-day café serving classic eats with thoughtfully sourced ingredients (all vegan, of course!).
 
There are no words to express how grateful I am for this incredible opportunity and the amazing team who has helped turn this dream into a reality. We’ve been working around the clock to create a truly special place that I hope will become one of your favorite neighborhood spots.
 
Doors open on Tuesday, July 16th at 12 p.m. Can’t wait to see you there!

🍅 🍑 🥒 🍆 🌶️ Are you as excited about seasonal produce as I am?!

Here is something I have been meaning to do for a long time: sharing my love for visiting the farmers market AND preparing a delicious meal with our market finds together with fellow foodies.

And some of you have asked me whether I offer any cooking classes, so here it is! (Not a classic cooking class).

This tour is limited to a small number of people, which makes it extra special!

On July 20th, we will visit the market (at Grand Army plaza, Brooklyn) together, shop for seasonal produce and then head to my apartment and cook together. If you are not an experienced cook, do not worry, I am sure we can all learn a thing or two from one another!

Note that I am not a trained chef, but a very passionate (and I hear, good) home cook, so join me for this one!

Note that most likely, my dog will be home (very friendly).

Dining at Mallow London with a group of non-vegans turned out to be a crowd pleaser! The starters, in particular the makhani Mille feuille potatoes and the mushroom croquettes and desserts (that raspberry pie!) were the winners - mains are also super yummy (didn’t get a pic of them all) but if you’re coming with a few people, I’d order all the starters!

Anyone else a fan of risotto? It’s one of my favorite things to make - this one’s a spring risotto with asparagus, green peas and pea sprouts.
Pairs nicely with this Pinot Grigio and thankfully, it is labeled vegan!

German grocery store chain Rewe is opening a vegan grocery store in the former Veganz location in Berlin! Can´t wait to check it out soon! (sorry, the article is in German, but you can use a translate function to translate it)

Look at this raspberry Fastelavn that’s available this month at Ole & Steen! The cream is delicious, the pastry part could be flakier but is also tasty!
It’s big but it doesn’t look great once it’s cut, unfortunately

Today’s lunch was - for the most part - made by a robot. Kernel opened last week and it’s a concept by Chipotle’s founder Steve Ells.
Definitely one of the most affordable lunch options in the city - I really enjoyed the chicken sandwich and the sides, in particular, are very tasty and affordable - they all feature veggies and grains!

The vegan cookbook market is constantly growing. There are so many great options on the shelves, but here, we narrowed them down to our top 100 picks of all time—with great difficulty.

Here's an easy way to help animals during the freeze (in Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona, California, etc):

Leave your garage cracked open and put a mostly enclosed box with a blanket inside so that a stray animal can find shelter for a couple of days. Put a little water outside the box.
