Jamaica Open New York Golf Tournament to be held August 2014
BROOKLYN, NEW YORK – April 19, 2014. The Alsion Roach Group of New York will host its first annual Jamaica Open NY(JONY) Golf Tournament on Monday August 4, 2014 at the Robert Trent Jones designed Marine Park Golf Course in Brooklyn, NY. The JONY Invitational Golf Tournament forms part of Jamaica's 52nd Independence celebrations in New York City and the organizers strongly believe this event will provide an opportunity to underscore and celebrate the vibrant and productive relationship between New York City and the Caribbean community. The event kicks off with a shotgun start at 9:00 am, and will be followed by a silent auction and awards ceremony. A number of dignitaries have already come out in support of the event including the Consul General of Jamaica, Herman LaMont, former Prime Minister of Jamaica the Hon. Andrew Holness and former Jamaican Ambassador Audrey Marks all of whom will be in attendance at the Jamaica Open NY ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday August 4. Adding to the excitement of the tournament, JONY organizer Alsion Roach will be hosting Reggae on the Green on Sunday, August 3rd to celebrate the launch of their first annual golf invitational. Guest will enjoy Caribbean-inspired cuisine from Brooklyn's own Tasty Delicious West Indian Bakery & Restaurant, cocktails and live music by reggae bassist extraordinaire Derrick Barnett & the Statement band, alongside award winning DJ Roy from Road International & Irie Jam Radio NY.
