Native New Yorker Nef Jones has been a casting director since 2003. She began her career with Judy Keller, casting a print ad for L’Oreal that had her scouring nightclubs in downtown NY. The success of this job landed her a position at Strickman-Ripps where she worked for the next 2 years as one of their top freelancers. House Casting then hired Nef in 2005. For the past 16 years, Nef has had the honor of providing real people for the following casting agencies: House Casting, Strickman-Ripps, Stacy Gallo, Double Wide Media, Lovely Giants, Greenpoint Pictures and Andreas Von Scheele. Nef attended LaGuardia HS of the Arts for music and continued her education at Hunter College with a focus on Classical Studies and Political Science. Outside of casting, she has fronted a successful band, JonesBones, performing in venues bi-coastally. She attributes her ability to connect with strangers while street casting with her comfort on stage and connection with her audience. Nef also heads a Music production company with husband Jimi K Bones and music partner Brian McGee, producing young artists, television themes and music videos, and runs a non-profit music program for kids in the South Bronx, called Haven Kids Rock. In 2015, Nef started Nef Jones Casting. She also continues to collaborate with other major casting companies, as well. JULIET AXON | casting associate
