Established in 2010, Niecy's Custom Designs (NCD) was born from a simple concept: taking the carnival masquerader to the next level by making them feel like a star. "After playing mas for so many years, I've always wondered why some masqueraders wouldn't take the extra time to match their footwear to their costume. I've seen some very creative pieces throughout the years, but I haven't really seen

many people venture into this aspect of the mas business. I first tried my hand in this for Trinidad & Tobago Carnival 2010. My mother had a beautiful green costume, with white and silver accents, and I couldn't let her embarrass herself and send her to Trinidad Carnival with boring looking sneakers. I took her drab sneakers (my father's too) and after a day or two, I created some of the most beautiful pair of mas sneakers I've seen (especially since I'm not a fan of wearing sneakers to play mas in). And so it began....

I have a genuine love of mas and the culture (something that I think is lacking nowadays). With my designs, I want the masquerader to feel like and be the showpiece that they DESERVE to be. In recent years, I have designed costume pieces for other bands, designed and created my own costume section for NY Labor Day Carnival 2012, and as of now I am currently working on other projects. I am truly humbled by the support I have received thus far and I am continually grateful for all supporters. Aside from the business of Carnival, Niecy's Custom Designs is heavily involved in the urban & Caribbean communities, participating in soup kitchens, prom dress drives (providing excelling but underprivileged high school aged young women with prom dresses and accessories), holiday toy & coat drive, donation of goods to disaster relief in Haiti, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, and the USA, monetary donations to domestic violence shelter in Grenada, domestic violence awareness, breast cancer awareness, and other charitable initiatives.
