When my mom asked me if I would like to help her knit hats to put on the "Giving Tree" at church during Christmas time, I thought, "I have never knitted, this could either be really fun or not such a great idea". I chose to help her out, because what a better way to learn to knit than to know that the hats I make would be going to kids that didn't have a warm winter hat and couldn't get one withou
t the help of others. My first attempt was in the van on our way to our family vacation... knitting 2 hats made the 10 hour drive go alot faster! What fun it was... during that week of vacation, I couldn't put my knitting down! I enjoyed it so much, that I couldn't wait to get home and get some different color yarn and some more supplies and try out some different patterns and designs. After I had made several for the "Giving Tree", I made a few hats to give as baby gifts for some friends. Since then, I have started taking orders and am having so much fun with my new found knitting skills!
