It spins wonderfully! Admittedly, I got this with the intention of using it to ply singles because the whorl is so large and will allow a crazy amount of yarn to be wound on. But this is light enough that I will also use it to spin some singles. Bonus: I have multiple shafts for TurtleMade spindles and can change the color out if I want.
These scales were originally going to be used in something else. But they found their way into this little bag instead. Ignore the shoelace, I can't seem to locate my paracord at the moment and wanted both a video to show the colors and to be able to show it closed. It will hold a tennis ball, though I didn't get that in the pictures because the second I finished this off my 8 year old took it off my hands. 🙂
These scales are colored by hand rather than being anodized. They are sealed with resin so the color is not vulnerable to moisture at all. Future bags will likely have more scales, and I will use regular anodized for ease.
