We have two great locations near Port Townsend, with two unique sets of offerings. Head to www.OlympicKayakTours.com to learn more and to make a reservation!

At Fort Worden State Park, we offer rentals of sit-on-top recreational kayaks (solos & doubles) and stand up paddleboards! We now also have a few bikes! We also offer short two-hour kayak tours along the Fort Worden & Port Townsend sea front. We are currently open Wednesday - Sunday 12 pm - 5pm. Solo kayaks and SUPs are $30 for the first hourr + $20 per additional hour, doubles are $50 for the first hour and $35 for each additional hour. The bicycles are $20 / hr all prices are + tax. We do sometimes have to make closures due to weather safety or other considerations so checking out the calendars at www.olympickayaktours.com will always have the most up to date information.

At Fort Flagler State Park, we offer ecological & educational wildlife watching & night time bioluminescence (aka 'phospheresence') sea kayak tours in our excellent expedition sea kayaks. We also offer advanced sea kayak rentals to those with Sea Kayak Certifications. We are open by appointment for tours which are timed to take advantage of tidal currents, so exact timing varies daily. We have our own method for predicting when bioluminescence will be present, and we've successfully had good biolume on 100% of our bioluminescence tours since 2020. We have recently added more dates and offerings, including for bioluminesence tours! We have lots of mint new harbor seal pups, developing gull and black oyster catcher chicks, and harbor porpoises and even larger whales like orcas regularly swim through our routes. We are premier wildlife watching and environmental education sea kayak tour company.

Stay tuned for private & small group kayak & SUP instruction and group classes coming soon!

Head to www.OlympicKayakTours.com to learn more and book a tour, rental, or lesson!

Announcing two new tours added for this weekend!!! A half-day wildlife watching tour from 12-3pm $79 per person https://fareharbor.com/embeds/book/kayaknisqually/items/250371/?full-items=yes&flow=444101

And a BIOLUMINESCENCE NIGHT PADDLE $119 per person from 8-11pm https://fareharbor.com/embeds/book/kayaknisqually/items/250368/?full-items=yes&flow=444101

Please note for the biolume tour, yes we have a pretty full moon, but moonrise isn't til midnight so it's effectively a new moon for our purposes. Also, as always we will be closely monitoring the weather and if the weather is either unsafe to go out, or we won't be seeing biolume we will cancel the tour and either fully refund or rebook customers onto another trip later in the season. We have over 99% success rate on biolume tours since 2017, ask our competitors what their success rates are 😉. Check out our reviews on your favorite review website to see what other people are saying.

We open for regular tours and rentals staring the 4th of July!!

🐬 08:17- Just got a call that there were at least 2 killer whales just off of the north end of Marrowstone [Island] near Rat Island. I was told they were likely milling at the time.

We are happy to announce our 2024 season! We will be returning to Fort Flagler state park. We are offering our much loved wildlife watching sea kayaking adventures led by expert naturalist guides, as well as our night time bioluminescence tours that have encountered biolume on over 99% of tours since 2017, and 100% since 2020!
You can learn more and find our schedule at OlympicKayakTours.com
We will be offering tours Thursdays-Sundays from early July to mid-October. For groups of 6 or more we may be able to offer kayak tours before July 4th on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, reach out to [email protected] if you want to schedule a tour!

Unfortunately we were unable to find good storage in Thurston County and are not planning to operate our Kayak Nisqually routes this year. We are also phasing out our unguided rentals of sit-on-top kayaks and stand-up-paddleboards that we offered last summer.

Olympic Kayak Tours & Kayak Nisqually is also for sale either as the whole business or in its constituent locations of Kayak Nisqually, Fort Flagler State Park, or Fort Worden State Park. We will also be offering a lot of kayaks and additional equipment for sale soon!

New in our magazine Salish Sea Currents: For years now, scientists have been braving the cold winter waters of Puget Sound to study one of the region's most enigmatic and threatened seabirds, the marbled murrelet. Writer and biologist Eric Wagner recently joined a murrelet expedition led by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and brought back these notes from the field.
