This we want to share about tagged manatees! Sometimes you'll see a buoy floating a few feet behind a manatee, this buoy has a GPS tracker on it for scientists to track the location of the animal. 📍 Trackers are attached to the manatee with a tether that does not hurt them and is designed to eventually break off. They give important information about migratory routes and even record water temperatures! 🌡️ If you spot a tagged manatee, give them plenty of space and practice your manatee manners! ❤️
