Wow! The weather here is horrible, I don't like to be negative but it's bad and the forecast is not promising either. It is mid February I guess it's supposed to be like this, at least we're not in Boston (poor folks up there). Good news is we are only a little over a month away from Spring, and warm weather is on the way. I recently took a little break away from the cold and ventured south to one of my favorite winter spots, Marsh Harbour in the Abacos, Bahamas. I love to fish and feel fortunate to make a living at it but sometimes you get a little tired of catching the same species. I've fell in love with fly fishing and Bonefish and there is no better place in my mind than the World Famous Marls that are on the West side of the Abacos. I had a short but eventful trip all by my lonesome and landed several on fly and many more on spin tackle. I wish that I had taken more pictures but that's real hard to do when by yourself. My guide Danny Sawyer was working hard poling me around putting me on fish after fish and it was kind of a pain in the ass for him to stop, come off poling platform, snap photo and climb back up to relocate the next school of Bones. We did take a few pictures to document a catch or two and I really had a great time. I could go on and on about how nice and friendly the people are there but my guide Danny went above and beyond any expectations, he picked me up, took me to lunch and not only did we fish together a few days he took me to dinner with his family. When I contacted him about fishing he even found me the best deal on lodging, Danny Sawyer and Justin Sands in Marsh Harbour are two of the best Bonefish guides in the World, I got lucky to catch him on a few off days but they are routinely booked a year in advance. It was a great trip, I look forward to many more. On the home front the fish should get back to their normal routines after this weather gets out of here this weekend. I'm ready to get back out scouting around and will keep you posted first of next week. Catch ya'll later.
