Happy 25th Oak Island!!! Founded July 1st 1999 as the result of the consolidation of two existing towns, Long Beach and Yaupon Beach. Per the 2020 census, the town has a permanent population of 8,396 while its summer population is near 50,000. It along with the town of Caswell Beach is part of the Wilmington, NC, Metropolitan Statistical Area. It’s also home to us pirates… but that’s another story..🏴‍☠️☠️🏴‍☠️

Today the Captain has officially retired from pirate affairs. For years he has been training and finally has been called in to do his duty. Today he marks the beginning of his new career….. Ninja…🥷 #AprilFoolsDay 🥷

From my wife in Maui Hawaii…. A mother whale teaching her baby calf to tail slap. This happened today, my wife is there learning about whales and their behavior along with important studies that help out keep up with them and their families. So proud of her going after her masters degree in marine biology and doing these studies as well!!! Sea life is important to take care of and I’m so proud my wife is doing her part…. More to come!!! 🏴‍☠️🐋🏴‍☠️
