Great tips from Quicksand beach concierge 🩵

This week is historically the second busiest week of the season for us so here are a few things to keep in mind while you are here.
“No bumper no parking”. What does that mean? If you don’t see a yellow bumper to park in front of, don’t park there.

Wheels to the bumper. We see more tickets for this than anything. Pull all the way up to the bumper.

Don’t double park a golf cart. One per space or
You will get a ticket.

GOLF CART RULES
If it’s illegal in a car it’s illegal in a golf cart

Kids must be in car seats not on laps.

Everyone must be in a seatbelt.

You can only drive on roads that are 35mph. That means much of Oak Island drive is not for golf carts.

Leaving the beach at Middleton you must turn left just over the bridge and go back to
Yacht via White Lane and then right on NW 1st.

You can still get a DUI on a golf cart so no drinking and driving.

You have to be 16 with a driver’s licenses to drive a golf cart

Sidewalks are not roads. Stay off of the sidewalks.

We want to give a huge shoutout to Beachfront Productions! They chose Oak Island as a location to film new episodes of HGTV's Battle on the Beach program! They are almost finished filming and Dan, their line producer, contacted us about donating to our organization! Dan was so nice and complimentary of our town and how great our locals have been to the production and crew! We are grateful that they chose our organization as one of their donor recipients and for supporting local nonprofits that work towards marine and wildlife conservation. We appreciate your kindness Dan and Beachfront Productions, for choosing our beautiful island! We are humbled by your support! Look for the episodes to air in July or earlier!

The overcast and fog didn’t stop us from getting these AMAZING photos for this maternity session 🌤️💛

This couple was SO fun to shoot with- including dipping in the freezing ocean for the shot and we know I’m ALL about doing what it takes for the shot 👏🏻

Turtle tracks and a brand new nest, a few doors down from Rhapsody in Blue. 💙 Do you see the heart? 🫶

Turtle Season is in full swing here on OKI! 🐢🐢 Please see the guidelines from Oak Island Sea Turtle Protection Program, and help us protect and care for our sea turtles!

*If you see a nesting turtle or hatchlings, please call us immediately.
*Do not shine red or white lights on any sea turtles.
*Please stay back behind a nesting turtle a minimum of 20 feet.
*Please stay quiet. Loud noises can disturb her.
*Do not take flash photography of any sea turtles.
*Please fill in any holes on the beach for the safety of sea turtles and humans.
*Please remove your trash from the beach area.
*Do not leave any gear (canopies, chairs, volleyball nets, etc…) overnight.
*Please do not walk on the dunes.
*If you hook a sea turtle, please call us immediately! Use a net to bring the turtle in or walk the turtle to the shore while it is still on the line. If you cut the line, please leave at least 2 ft. for us to tape the line to the back of the carapace. Please shade the turtle so it does not sit in the hot sun. Please never remove a hook from its mouth or throat!
