All About Me (Your Relationship Expert)
What you really need to know about me as your relationship expert is that I’m passionate. I talk and laugh loud, and I say what I think, sometimes with colorful language. I experience a lot of love and I share that freely. People who really get and love me appreciate this about me. They love my energy and enthusiasm, and my no-nonsense and occasionally bras
h approach to getting things done. But I’m also a thinker. I can be really quiet when I’m thinking, plotting, planning, devising, revising, analyzing, comparing, or contemplating. I think others are sometimes a little confused when I get quiet because of the rest of the time. It’s all good though. Something really awesome is brewing. There are some other details you might find interesting. Like the fact that I’m a professional opera singer. I sing in the Washington, DC Metro area almost exclusively these days, but there was a time I sang in France and Italy and even at Carnegie Hall. Today I sing with the Washington National Opera Chorus at the Kennedy Center (and other places as well). I’m also a professional yoga instructor. One of the benefits of working with me is the possibility of attending one of my retreats, which always includes some yoga, meditation, and other related activities. I’m super passionate (see that?) about bringing more healing to the world in whatever ways people want to experience it, and yoga seems to be an easy pathway. I play classic rock and pop during my yoga classes. I’m a professional certified coach. You might have guessed that, but just in case, there it is. Becoming a coach changed my life in too many ways to name. It would be immoral of me not to pass that along to others. Besides, it’s my mission in life to serve others so they can enjoy lives of passion and meaning. There, another thing about me. I love to cook, and have a kitchen full of cooking implements. I enjoy traveling and would like to do more of that. I also enjoy wine, scotch, tequila, the occasional cigar, dancing, action and suspense movies, flirty dresses, high heels, lipstick, and doing my nails. Usually red. I took an entire year off the year I turned 50 to wear absolutely no makeup, hair product or dye, or nail polish. I enjoy having fun and being silly. Even goofy. For this I do not apologize. I completely embrace my childlike nature and encourage others to do the same. We all deserve more play in our lives. I call myself a recovered perfectionist. There was a time I suffered greatly from that disease, but these days I cultivate self-love, acceptance, and compassion instead. You might also want to know that I took myself from being deeply in debt to having a nest egg the same size as my debt used to be. This is one of my proudest accomplishments. Well, that, and the fact that I ran my first mile without stopping at the age of 52. I’ve got a generous handful of relationships in my past. I’ve learned from each of them. I’ve suffered. I’ve been where you are. And I’ve figured out how to stop all of that and enjoy my life instead. For this I am grateful. Did I say I was dedicated to the practice of gratitude? Oh, yeah, you probably want to know that about me, too. I’m in a wonderfully loving, caring, fun, supportive, and sexy relationship. Our values and interests align, we communicate openly, honestly, and often, and we cultivate space as well as closeness between us. We are interested in what the other is doing, feeling, and thinking, without any necessity for control, clinginess, or other negative energy to disrupt the flow of love, pleasure, and joy. We aren’t in any big hurry to decide on our future, and instead enjoy each moment as it comes. I’m a mom and a grandmother. I do not live through my kids, but I sure do love them! They constantly amaze and teach me. Did I already mention gratitude? Now that you’ve read this, you are already technically in my world. Let’s play together big! XO
