There’s a majesty in this place - the wide open savannah, the clouds that build along the vast horizon, the way the light skirts across the land at daybreak, and most of all, the spectacular animals that you find nowhere else on earth.

I’m learning about the symbiosis of life here, their distinct social networks and idiosyncrocies…their beauty. I can’t wait to experience this place with HHJ sisters in 2027. I could stay here forever. 🦓🧡🐘🙏🦏

This is just a warm up. And oh so adorable! I’m inspired by Kenya’s commitment to conservation, including rescuing these baby elephants and shepherding them through an 8-10 year rehabilitation process, then reintroduction into their natural habitat.

Tomorrow we fly to the Masai Mara for five days of safari, then back to Nairobi to further develop unique experiences of women’s community that we’ll host on our 2027 journey.

It’s about discovering our shared humanity. “Harambee!” As the Kenyans say, “Let us all pull together.”

Though the holidays can feel hectic, they’re meant to be a time to STOP and reset, to relax with loved ones, and refocus on what truly matters. FEELING the rare stillness of this time when much of the world unplugs opens us to simple BEING, rather than frantic doing.

This is when we can recognize lessons and healing from the past year, hear fresh inspiration, and see the direction of KNOWING.

We will be taking intentional time to unplug this week, and we hope you can do the same. Sending you love, joy, and light this holiday season!

📚Experience time & community with ‘Loving What Is’ The Work of Byron Katie while walking the world-renowned pilgrim trail from St. Jean Pied de Port to Burgos.
You will receive a blank journal and a workbook with everything you need to do your ‘Work’ on the Camino. We will offer prompts for daily consideration and practical exercises to invite you to reflect and journal.
Prior to the trip, we offer an workshop (optional) on Katie’s books and will explore how the practice of inquiry can help to identify and question stressful thoughts during our walk, and in our daily lives. (Follow-up workshops will also be available during our journey.)
‘The Work’ consists of four simple questions that, when applied to a specific situation, help us to connect more deeply to reality, rather than lost in the stories that we make about it. As Katie explains, “It’s not the problem that causes our suffering; it’s our thinking about the problem.” Contrary to popular belief, trying to let go of a painful thought never works; instead, on the other side of inquiry, the thought lets go of us.

What does an honest heart mean to you? We asked some of the women on our Slovenia trip earlier this year and got some wonderfully insightful answers. To some it means exploration of the self from a new perspective. To others it means honesty through the lens of kindness. Each woman has their own definition of an honest heart, just as each woman’s experience is different on an Honest Heart Journeys trip.
