Sad news to report for Wilson.
After a quick investigation it was determined nobody knows who took Wilson, they mentioned it could be beach patrol but that they don't normally have barrels on the beaches unless it's a special event and then they collect them right away.
It was a sad departure as we say goodbye to Mr Wilson, thank you for your short lived service sir ❤️

We are currently in touch with the Ocean City Maryland sanitation department, who after a little chuckle, is going to do an investigation and find out what happened to Wilson and if they can put him back.
Not looking too good but fingers crossed 🤣

🤣🤣 Diana Hope checked the camera and said Wilson is missing! Also other members of the Wilson 118th Street page have expressed concern that Wilson is missing!

I called the front desk to see if maybe a employee might have moved it and they said no but thought it was interesting that Wilson had his own page and people were taking pictures with him. The desk clerk said she would check around and let me know tomorrow.
Hopefully he didn't blow back into the sea.

Welcome to the Wilson "on the beach" at 118th st ocmd.
A quick synopsis of Wilson's life... Wilson, a 33 gallon plastic drum, was found floating in the surf in 42° ocean water on Dec 30th 2022 by David and Diana Sheeder. Spotted by multiple people it was d&d who had the courage to brave the waves and water temperature to pull this drum out of the water.
We surmise it must have been in the water for quite some time because it had barnacles, clams and snails and other life attached to it.
After the rescue the barrel was drug from the water up the beach to its current resting place on 118th Street in Ocean City Maryland.
Since then this repurposed ocean dwelling barrel has taken on a life of its own, being Knighted Sir Wilson on January 1st 2023, and has been a lone sentinel in guarding the beach against trash and rubbish ever since.
