Keri of C'est la vie put together this short video to showcase the cabin and her recent stay. We appreciate the love! 💗 🙌

Thank you to those of you who give a shoutout to my small biz! I haven’t posted to ABnB because I believe in cultivating the relationships I have with those of you who stay here. I don’t like their fee structure and I want to keep this space safe for everyone who stays here. But I do appreciate you sharing our cabin with the people you know. Thank you!! 🙏

This movie was iconic in my childhood, and maybe particularly so because it was filmed in nearby Astoria.

There are many celebrations taking place in Astoria this weekend for those interested.

Happy 40th anniversary to a childhood nostalgia piece for me and many others!

4th of July is a popular time at the beach and unfortunately a large amount of trash is left behind. Our local beach cleanup group hosts a large cleanup on the 5th to prevent litter and spent fireworks from entering the ocean. Help us out if you can!

Fascinating info about the jetties separating the Pacific Ocean from the Columbia River. This talks specifically about the south jetty in Oregon - a 6.5 mile rebuild. The other two jetties mentioned are based out of this area of SW WA.

Across the street is this gorgeous building that was once home to those who saved lives on our piece of the coast. It had a few names and owners through the years, and was a part of the for a while. Now it’s a historic building and vacation rental.

Let’s be honest, sometimes our one bedroom beach cabin is just too small for some needs. But the Life Saving Station across the way can be rented as 3 separate units for 4-6 people each, or as one larger rental fit for 16 people. Or mix it with our cabin, and you can max out at TWENTY people. And a gazebo, large fenced yard, sauna, fire pit - a scene ready for bigger parties. 🎉 🙌 🥳

You can look at pics and availability for them through their AirBnb site, but feel free to contact us for discounted rates too (for large groups.)

We look forward to hosting you, whatever your needs!

Found 5 different driftwood forts within a half mile of either direction of our beach access from the cabin. Photos of 3 here.

The creativity always grabs me. Shells for decor, metal rebar to hold on “doors”, careful selection of logs that fit just right. I haven’t ever made a driftwood fort, but I’ve enjoyed many. Add that to my bucket list - how about yours?

We’ve got many dates open this spring and summer. Book your time for a little sea cation by messaging me! 🌊 🏡

The earth is our mother - she grounds us and provides sustenance. Her beauty is unrivaled.

Every day I walk that shoreline, I thank the ocean for her beauty and life giving force, the earth for her grounding and sustenance, a place to nourish all life, the air for the oxygen we breath and the feeling of flow between all things, and the sun for its warmth. I thank the animals, the trees, the ancestors, the plants, and all the mysteries seen and unseen.

Happy Earth Day! May we find ways to nurture our mother in the way we live our lives and in the moves we make in the world. 🌎 🙏 🌈 ♥️

(I got a new phone in February, so these photos are just a few from the last two months.) 🤘

Did you know the north end of Long Beach Peninsula—just up the coast from Cetacean Station—has grown three miles in the last 20 years? Thanks to the jetties near the Columbia River, natural sand accretion is literally reshaping our shoreline. It’s an incredible reminder that this place is always changing and full of surprises. When you stay at our cabin, you’re not just getting a cozy coastal retreat—you’re stepping into a living, shifting landscape shaped by the sea itself. 🤯
