That’s a wrap on Wren Tours India 2024!

With visits to Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore and Delhi - we had a historic and productive tour. Special thanks to our tour director Pallavi Sharma of De Paul University and Kelsey Howard of UC-Davis , our assistant tour director! Special gratitude to REAC Lewis Cardenas for all the support and time!

Highlights:

• 3840 kilometers traveled within India
• 34 school visits and college fairs
• 3 counselor dinner networking events
• More than 5,000 students engaged

A message from Doug Wren: Our heartfelt condolences go out to the entire Gaynor family along with those who had the high privilege of working with him over his illustrious career at Villanova University.

I met Michael Gaynor in Latin America in September of 1994. He was quick witted, funny, thoughtful and "Philly" through and through.

Michael was devoted to his family, God and Villanova. I aspired to be the father he was to Christian, Nick and Anna. His love for his wife Deb was unwavering.

Watching St. Joseph’s vs Villanova at the Palestra, dinners in south Philly, cheesesteaks, and trips around the world, are memories I cherish with Michael.

Vaya con Dios. Your memory will always be a blessing.

Wren Tours Southern Africa 2024 Recap
- 🌍 Seven cities, six countries
- 👩‍🎓 643 student leads

- 🏫 10 universities (USA, Canada, South Africa, & Italy)
- 🥱 Four, 6 AM flights
- 🦓 One game drive in Namibia
- 🍩 Krispy Kreme donuts & Nando's dinners

📍 Destinations: Johannesburg, Gaborone, Maputo, Lusaka, Harare, Windhoek, & Cape Town

🌍 Our most recent tour in Southern Africa was one for the books! Visiting seven cities in six countries, we engaged with over 2000 enthusiastic students and their families. With a combination of traditional university fairs and presentations, our university reps made the most of our time on the continent!

✈️ Flights: Our daily commute from the O.R Tambo Airport tested our early morning resilience. We embraced the buses, small planes, and bumpy flights as we became well acquainted with terminal A. If there was a record of boxed breakfast consumption, we would definitely be contenders for first place prize!

🌟 Counselor Events: We held counselor events in Johannesburg, Maputo, and Harare. Whether it was a beachside restaurant in Mozambique, or a garden oasis brunch in Zimbabwe, it is always nice to take a break from the school setting to strengthen our connections!

📚 A productive university fair, hosted by the International School of Harare!
🥜 Delicious Zimbabwean lunch from Gava’s- our favorite was peanut butter rice!
🤝 Wonderful Saturday morning counselor brunch!
🌸 Rest & relaxation in our garden oasis! Thank you, Zim, for a lovely few days!

We had a wonderful visit from the Trade Commissioner at the High Commission of Canada in South Africa at AISJ and enriching student conversations at all of our stops! Thank you to our partners for hosting these lovely fairs!

First few days of the Wren Tours Southern Africa Tour off to a fantastic start! After a bumpy ride to Gaborone, we started our tour off strong with programs at Westwood International and Maru-a-Pula. We continued on to Maputo, where we visited Education USA and had a fantastic fair at American International School of Maputo! Thank you students, families, and counselors for the warm welcome!

🕺 IYKYK: a night of live samba music and an amazing dinner in Salvador, the cultural heart of Brazil

Our spring China 2024 trip was a blast and is now a wrap. A little rundown on our return to China:

🌍 Visited 7 vibrant cities in just 10 days!
🎓 Participated in 21 university fairs across China.
🚂 Traveled on 3 high speed trains (our favorite mode of transportation in China).
🤝 Hosted 6 memorable counselor events, where we bonded over Xiaolongbao at Din Tai Fung and discussed universities while sipping on bubble tea.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Connected with thousands of enthusiastic students and families at the fairs!
🍜 IYKYK: Spicy noodles on the famous "Snack Street" in Chongqing! 🌶️

Thank you to the many counselors who hosted such wonderful events! Thank you San Lee from University of California, Davis for leading our first tour back to China since 2019! We look forward to returning in spring 2025!

Hurricane Fiona altered our plans for school fairs in Santo Domingo. Our team sprang into action and re-routed the Latin America tour into Panama. With new flights, hotels, and transfers arranged within hours, our resilient group of tour participants enjoyed a beautiful counselor dinner last night in the charming historic district 🇵🇦
