My friend Rob has a photo show hanging at his restaurant, Dixie Quicks in Council Bluffs. The show "This Monkey's Gone to Heaven" is a deeply moving and lovely display of Rob's personal photos of the last year in the life of his husband Rene Orduna. Rene was a lovely human. I met him many years ago working at the Neon Goose downtown. He was the kindest and most gentle human I have ever met and we became fast friends from the moment we met. He promised me the day we met that I would have a friend for life and he kept that promise. I miss Rene but nearly as much as his love Rob does. I took these photos today as a way to honor my dear friend Rob and hope that you will see these images and they will inspire you to go and see the show. The photography is beautiful and the love they shared so papable. Rob displayed the images on articles of Rene's clothing because he was known for his unique fashion flair! Go see the show and grab a meal! I promise if you have never been you will LOVE the food!

This is Anu, they are non binary and they’re up to big things in our world! I was honored to be asked to capture their essence for senior photos! I’m literally floored by the images we captured and they’re inner glow of confidence! They’ve had a challenging life, being misunderstood and disrespected by they’re own parent and by the community at large that wants to put them in a box! They clearly DO NOT fit in just one box!
