East Canal Road widening project complete

The East Canal Road widening project from Highway 161 to Wilson Boulevard is complete, as of today - Friday, May 17th.

This roughly 1.4-mile section of Canal Road was expanded to three lanes to allow for a middle turn lane. A roundabout was added near the public library as well as a 10-foot multi-use path on the north side of the road. An extension of the 10-foot path from Wilson Boulevard to Bear Point is expected to begin before the end of the year.

Live music on the lawn chosen specifically for the occasion. Plan to stay the day and enjoy the beauty all around the Coastal Art Center and bring the kids to see the Kids Art Alley and maybe make something to take home. Satellite parking will be available as well as $5 shuttles and golf cart parking onsite, all well-behaved pets on a leash are welcome.

This fine arts festival is completely free with music and entertainment featured on two stages. You can be a part of it by volunteering or purchasing art through our Patron of the Arts program. There are multiple parking options.
