Unfortunately I lost my last trip of the year due to the bad weather we will be soon having in the Gulf, a possible Hurricane in November name Raphael. I will be pulling the boat out Atleast by weeks end. It will be headed to BGS marine for yearly maintenance and then to Island Glass Works for fiberglass repairs as well as other cosmetic issues . Anyways thanks again for those that fished the 2024 season with me . We will be opening back hopefully near the end of February 2025 to begin the spring season. Capt Ritchie appreciates all who fished with him this year and now to survive the winter month ahead .

Rodney Sheely and his wife from Kentucky were my afternoon trip thru Fishbooker . They caught five fkounder, two very nice ones, and a very nice redfish. We also lost three other redfish by breaking them off. We saw thousands of reds like this morning feeding on so much baitfish along the shoreline . It was definitely a redfish kind of day . We also had a big shark eat a redfish as well

She showed up on our doorstep 12 or 13 years ago as a puppy and has always been the best dog. She went over the Rainbow bridge this evening when my son had to make the tough decision that we all hate to make when our furbabies are suffering. Skittle or “Skidaddle girl” as Ritchie nicknamed her was such a sweet and loving girl. She will be missed. We are Heartbroken 💔

My repeat customers ,Brent and Lucy Baker ,from Indiana were my only trip of the day . We caught some Spanish Mackerel , lots of remora , a baby Cobia that was released after the photo , and ended the trip with a fine Blacktip shark . After the trip they invited me to eat with them at The Flora-Bama Yacht Club . We had it cooked three ways ,Firecracker inwhich everyone thought it was the best , regular fried and blackened . They were all wonderful to me but I think Firecrackered Fish is quite the bomb

My repeat customers , Shane (dad) and Wyatt ( son) from Mississippi caught a limit of snapper and a couple of nice size Spanish Mackerel yesterday afternoon. Since the inshore bite was a little slow we weathered the bumpy gulf to a reef with our inshore gear and caught red snappers , ruby lips , remoras as well as the Mackerel . We also lost a massive sized Blacktip as he leaped out of the water twisting and turning . The heavy leader unfortunately was no match for this shark as he stressed it out and set himself free.

My morning trip was from Colorado, the Becker family , sons Logan and Blake caught quite a few Spanish Mackerel and a few ladyfish . They wanted a shark and we caught a nice blacknose shark for them to eat at the Yacht Club after the trip. The blacknose had three pups also inside her .

Lauren Coles and her boyfriend and people in her Rv park friends down Ft Morgan Road fished with me today 10-13-24. We started off trolling catching Spanish of all sizes . We did see a Blacktip shark in the pass while trolling but did not Shark fish . The inshore bite was slow yesterday as Rob Kritsmire had told me the night before . Instead of inshore fishing we took off to a reef and caught them a six person limit of snapper instead. We caught lots of other small snappers, ruby lips , and even remoras which were all released . The action was definitely ongoing and all had a good time .
