Guess how many plants from the garden cooked with in their field trip yesterday. Go on, try.

If you guessed FIFTEEN, you’re probably as excited as the whole Edible Ed team was when Chef Megan gave us the tally 🤩🥬😋

This is one group of kids who are learning to LOVE plants on the plate!

The corner of King St in College Park is a beautiful place to be 🌾🌞

And thanks to community giving, it’s going to stay that way for years to come.

The Emeril Lagasse Foundation Kitchen House will be undergoing some updates at the end of the month to keep it a joyful and welcoming space to gather, connect, and learn. Our heartfelt thanks to:

Dr. Phillip’s Charities for a grant in the amount of $40,000 for facilities repairs.

Emeril Lagasse Foundation for a grant in the amount of $10,000 for facilities repairs.

AdventHealth for a grant in the amount of $10,000 for facilities repairs.

And to the individuals who helped grow our garden—your community is enjoying the fruits of your giving every day 🥬🌱

Thank you to Karen Armistead, JoAnne Stevenson Block, Pam and Steve Brandon, Sarah Channing, the Donlins, Tom Durkee, Gary and Peggy Handelman, Christopher Hannegan, Erin Huber, Wendi and Steve Nelson, Karsten Randolph, Jenni Smith, Dr. Laura Varich, and Jose and Angela Venegas Fals for your contributions to edible education in Central Florida 💚

Did you know this is the first semester gets to harvest their own crops to cook with? And they’ve harvested A LOT, after only three classes so far!

This week was all about herbs🌿 We harvested parsley, cilantro, dill, green onions, and garlic chives (not to mention some beautiful and tender purple lettuce to dress with Greek yogurt-based ranch).

We are so excited by the abundance we are seeing—and tasting—from the garden this season. It’s all thanks to donations, big and small, to our Good Food Garden Campaign. Which, as it so happens, you can still contribute to 😉

Homeschool roll call! 🔔

Ready to cook? This one’s for our 10-17 year olds, and Southern cuisine is what’s on the menu! 🍲😋

We’ll spend time in the garden learning about seasonal eating, and bring some of that freshness into the kitchen to see for ourselves how good plants are on the plate.

And yes—Step Up loves our Homeschool Field Trips!

Teamwork at the Table!

We enjoyed having the Food and Nutrition Services crew at the Kitchen House to learn about plant-forward eating and sustainability, but we wanted to tell you that Teambuilders are for more than just corporate coworkers!

Got a book club? Community garden? Group of friends? Let’s book a private Teambuilder where you’ll get to work together, cook together, and eat together, exploring all the ways food builds community.

Get in touch with our Programs Manager to book your own experience! Email [email protected] to learn more.

Have you been wanting to check out the Kitchen House, but not sure where to start? It’s simple!

Simple Starts is an easy, approachable way to get to know Edible Ed—and to start making flavorful changes to your kitchen experience!

This Saturday morning, we’re talkin’ microgreens. Dr. Laura Varich will teach you about the health benefits and practical applications, and she’s coming with plenty of samples to taste test. Then, you’ll plant some seeds and take them home to watch your micro-journey grow.

Simple Starts is a great way to enjoy a morning with a garden view and start getting to know Edible Education Experience—a CommUNITY Champion, according to !

Find your $20 ticket on our programs page, 🔗 in bio. See you Saturday! 🌱💚

This week, we had the pleasure of hosting Coalition for the Homeless and Home of Bright Choices for garden-to-kitchen experiences.

Pasta days are always a blast, and we were excited to harvest some of the first crops from our culinary garden reboot thanks to the Good Food Garden Campaign. (You can help us finish the redesign by going to www.edibleed.org/donatenow !)

Had a blast with the financial team at our Longevity Cooking Class! 🥢 They rolled up our sleeves and learned to make fresh summer rolls, all while embracing a whole-food, plant-forward approach to eating. It was a hands-on experience that not only brought everyone closer together as a team but also helped explore the power of nourishing our bodies with vibrant, plant-based ingredients.

Here’s to good food, great company, and a healthier future! 🌱

Microgreens are a healthy way to add nutrients to your diet. They contain many vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients.

For example, radish microgreens have double the amount of calcium and are higher in omega 3s than radishes. We are excited to use our radish microgreens as a health boosting garnish! 🌱💪🏼
