The festive season has began! Starting with our first harvest of Rosa Bianca eggplants.

Beloved by many chefs for its creamy, rich texture and a mild, sweet flavor with no bitterness.

The Rosa Bianca prefers warmer climates, and will be in abundance at your local Florida farmers markets so make sure to take a look!

Sweet potato season is nearly here!

We like to cure our sweet potatoes for 2 weeks after harvest in order for the sweetness to develop. The curing process also helps to heal wounds from the harvest process.

Stay tuned for recipes and kitchen fun in our programming later this month! 🍠

Who’s this handsome bunch of people? Why, our very own volunteers, of course! Ask any one of them why they volunteer at EEE, and they’re sure to say they feel the impact they bring to our mission.

We love volunteer appreciation days, and getting to spoil this special crew. Yesterday we got crafty with kitchen towels, snacked a lot, and shared some market goodies.

If you’re interested in volunteering at Edible Ed, you’re one step away from a rewarding experience. Sign up and join us for an orientation—we can’t wait to meet you! https://www.edibleed.org/volunteer

Take a Medieval feast, make it plant-forward! 🏰🥗

Food historian taught us how flavorful the past was, and this fun group of homeschoolers conquered every challenge we set before them. The Kitchen House is smelling delicious and it’s a lovely day to enjoy lunch on the veranda with friends.

Sign your homeschoolers up for our November public field trips, where we’ll explore historical Native American cooking. 🌽 https://www.edibleed.org/payforclass

Hey, OJA! It’s been a while since we’ve checked in with our favorite middle schoolers across the street , but we’ve been back at it this semester with healthy snacks on the menu! Watching these kids’ confidence and competence develop over the years is a blast, and so is seeing them taste their creations. Every Friday, we get to surprise their taste buds and their assumptions about using healthy ingredients in classic recipes.

Today, we heralded in the start of Soup Season with a flight of three different soups—Butternut Squash, White Bean, and Veggie!

So pleased to host a visit from & Co from this morning! We introduced them to the philosophies and practices that help us share the joy and connection of whole, sustainable foods with our community. Chef Megan gave a delicious demonstration using our garden turmeric in some warming golden milk, and our good friend Natasha from shared how the kids in her program have gained so much confidence and joy through their experiences at Edible Ed.

It takes a visit to understand what a special part of the community EEE is. Stop by to chat if you’re ever in the neighborhood, and learn more about programs to join at www.edibleed.org.
