🎉Our first team cruise of 2025! 🎉

This week team members, Julia, Kate S, Allison T, and Tiffany are sailing on the Disney Wish 🛳 to learn more about the ship and Disney Cruise Line. With some first time cruisers and some more experienced ones we can’t wait hear everyone’s experience. 🤩

With their itinerary they will get to experience 3 different dining options 🍽 as part of their rotational dining, 1923, Worlds of Marvel, and Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure, 🏝 2 port destinations of Nassau and Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island, and tons of onboard activities! 🎭

It’s a cruel, cruel winter, and I am looking to get out of this cold and into the heat! Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina offers multiple areas for guests to cool off in the sun while visiting beautiful Hawaii. I love some relaxation by the pool!

There are pool areas on the property, such as the Ka Maka Grotto Pool, the Waikolohe Pool and Stream, the Wailana Pool, the Keiki Cove Splash Zone, the Menehune Bridge, and the Whirlpool Spas. These do not disappoint, with lots of fun for the day! You can even swim with the fish at Rainbow Reef for an additional cost.

Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort is undergoing refurbishments for their villas, and we're SO EXCITED to see the finished rooms. Some of our team members recently had a chance to stay in a newly-refurbished 2-Bedroom Villa, and they are absolutely gorgeous!✨

With modern finishes and vibrant colors, the new magical touches in this room fit perfectly with the resort's theme. Custom artwork inspired by Mary Blair and Joey Chou completes the look.

Wow, what a week! Caiti and I are heading home after an incredible trip, reflecting on all the magic we experienced. While we definitely clocked in some Park time, we spent a lot of time at the resorts, specifically the new Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, dining, exploring, and chatting with Cast Members (who really are the magic makers at Disney).

Here are the DVC rooms we stayed in this week!

We also spent our last night at Port Orleans Riverside, enjoying hilarious piano antics from Yehaa Bob Jackson at the River Roost and taking an easy drive over to French Quarter this morning for breakfast beignets before our flight. 😋

Did you know Bay Lake Tower is currently undergoing refurbishment?

Caiti and I checked into a 2-Bedroom Villa during our trip this week and, excitedly, we were assigned a freshly refurbished room! While I’ve always loved Bay Lake’s location (hello, Magic Kingdom walking path and easy monorail access!), the theming wasn’t necessarily my personal cup of tea. However, with the new updates, Bay Lake Tower has definitely jumped up on my list of favorite DVC resorts.

The refurbished rooms have embraced a contemporary vibe with Disney touches that perfectly fit the resort. The artwork is stunning, beautifully capturing the whimsy of Magic Kingdom while honoring the resort’s history.

Here are a few updates I’m loving:
✨ Pull-down wall beds (goodbye, pull-out couches!)
✨ Plenty of outlets for all your devices
✨ A stronger Disney vibe in the design
✨ Rainfall showerheads for the ultimate relaxation
✨ New flooring and accent carpets

Keep in mind, not all rooms are finished yet, so it’s not guaranteed you’ll get one until the refurbishment is complete. Our tip? Let us know you’d prefer a refurbished room, and we can have it noted on your reservation. Room requests aren’t guaranteed, but you can also ask a Cast Member at check-in to reiterate the request (this is what I always do).

✨ The 2 Bedroom Penthouse at Disney’s Polynesian Island Tower is the first of its kind for the Disney Vacation Club! ✨

⛰ While similar in layout to the 2 Bedroom Villas at the Polynesian Island Tower, the Penthouse 2 Bedroom Villa is larger in size, to create more of a hangout space while accommodating up to 8 guests, plus 1 infant under the age of 3 at the time of check-in. 😌

As soon as you walk into the 2 Bedroom Penthouse you are greeted by giant windowed doors flooding the room with sunlight, ☀️ making the room feel so warm and inviting. This is where you will find the queen-size pull-down bed with stunning Moana-themed artwork. 🖌

A new addition to this new room type is the double-sided TV unit. 🖥 This makes it so guests can enjoy watching TV if they are sitting in the living area or if they are cooking in the kitchen or enjoying a meal at the dining room table. 🛋There is also plenty of storage space under the unit so if you’re sleeping in the living area, you won’t have to worry about being far from your belongings. There will be a bathroom just off the main area.

There will be a full kitchen with a full-size fridge, dishwasher, and stove, and there will be washer and dryer in unit. 👩‍🍳

The main bedroom will have 1 king-size bed and an en suite. If you saw my other post about the 2 Bedroom Lock-Off you will know I adore the bathtubs in these en suites. 🛀They look so serene and relaxing. The walk-in shower is also wonderful and will even have a bench if you enjoy a good steam. 🫧

The second bedroom will have 2 queen beds plenty of storage and a wonderful counter space that can be used for whatever you need during your stay. 🛏 There will also be a bathroom en suite for the second bedroom with a walk-in shower and water closet.

In both bedrooms, there will also be luggage storage areas as the closets are a bit smaller than other resorts. 🧳

I really enjoy how there is more touches of yellow in the 2 two-bedroom penthouse Villas. I like to believe this is an added Disney touch and that the rooms on the lower floors will have more beiges and blues for the beach 🏖 and the ocean and the higher you get in the Tower you will see more greens as you head up the “island” ⛰ and as you get to the Penthouse on the top floors you will see the bright yellow sunlight. 🌤

Another unique addition to the 2 Bedroom Penthouse is that it will have 3 balconies, one off each of the bedrooms and 1 off of the main living area. This way if you have some early risers 🌄 or people who enjoy staying up later than others 🌠, they can enjoy some peaceful time on the balconies without disturbing others.

🥰 I think the thing I’m most in love with at all the villas at this resort, is the amount of effort that was put into the small details. The added textures make the room feel more outdoorsy. And of course, there are plenty of hidden Mickeys throughout the rooms. 👀

The 2 Bedroom Villa Lock-Off at Disney’s Polynesian Island Tower is a great way for the whole family to stay together but still have their own space! 🥰

A 2 Bedroom Lock-Off Layout is available at almost all Disney World Disney Vacation Club resorts. 🙌 It consists of an adjoining Studio and 1 Bedroom Villa to create a 2 Bedroom Villa and will sleep up to 9 guests, plus 1 infant under the age of 3 at the time of check-in at this resort.

The Studio component of the 2 Bedroom Lock-Off will have 1 queen bed and 1 pull-down queen-size bed. There will be a full kitchenette with a dishwasher, making it easier to clean up before you head out to the parks or head to bed. 😋 If you enjoy using your kitchenette, there is a bench with a table in the room perfect for sitting down to enjoy a meal. I really appreciate the long countertop over the dresser to use as a workspace, getting ready area, or laying out all my ears! 🤩

Another new addition to the Villas at the Island Tower is the luggage storage area. 🧳 While there should still be room under the beds to store luggage or other large bags, the closets are smaller, making these areas perfect for storing your bags.

The 1 Bedroom Villa component of the 2 Bedroom Lock-Off will have a full kitchen with a full-size fridge, dishwasher, and stove. 🍳 It will also have a washer and dryer in the unit. The living area has plenty of space to hang out during the day and will have 1 queen-size pull-down bed, and 1 pull-down bunk-size bed for sleeping. There is a full bathroom off the kitchen area, so you don’t have to worry about disturbing others. 🤫

The main bedroom will have a king-size bed and its own en suite bathroom. This bathroom has to be one of my favorites! I am OBSESSED with the giant soaker tub. 🛀 This seems like the perfect way to relax after a long day in the parks. The split vanity with the pop of green is GORGEOUS. This makes getting ready so much easier! 💅

‼️ A bonus about the 1 Bedroom Villas and 2 Bedroom Villas at the Polynesian Island Tower is that they will have an extra full bathroom compared to other resorts. 😱 There are only 2 other resorts, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village and Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, that will offer 2 full bathrooms in the 1 Bedroom Villa and 3 full bathrooms in the 2 Bedroom Villa!

Overall, I love how the rooms have different neutrals and textures to give them a realistic beach feel. 🏝️ The bursts of green and blues add to the tropical island feel. The decor on the bookshelf in the living area not only gives a lived-in feel but makes me think they are treasures that have been found around the island and have a story just waiting to be told! ⛰️

The 2 Bedroom Villa Lock-Off layout is the ideal stay for a big party wanting to be close together but still have their own spaces. Do you travel with a mix of early risers ☀️ and night owls 🌕? This option may be perfect for you! ~Taycee

🌴🌞 The Duo Studios at Disney’s Polynesian Island Tower are the perfect stay for solo travelers or couples! 🌴🌞

These villas are very similar to the Tower Studio at Disney’s Rivera Resort, as they only accommodate 2 guests plus 1 infant under the age of 3 at the time of check-in, however, it does have its own spin. 👀

The Duo Studios are compact with your vanity 💅 being right there when you walk into the room and the bathroom will have the walk-in shower and toilet in the same room. There is a full kitchenette with a microwave, toaster, and coffee maker to enjoy breakfast in the room or a late snack. 😋

It will have one pull-down queen-size bed to provide you with more space during the day and comfortable sleeping arrangements at night. 😴 And there is a decent amount of storage for 2 people if you’re an unpacker like me! 🙌

Of course, the Moana artwork on the pull-down bed is STUNNING! I love the touch of color it brings to the room. 🏝 The Duo Studio is giving me such island vibes. 🌊
