We have some july availability and have gone to a 4 night minimum… so check it out and come visit. we are pet friendly and have kayaks and paddle boards and a great location! the photos so far on profile are old, but check the cottage and house links in profile for dates!

Have kept the yards and landscaping rustic but also have cleaned up extensively and added flowers, hostas, window boxes, tables and umbrellas and chaises etc. to create a comfortable and welcoming space to relax and entertain… a bit of Olde Cape Cod in a time capsule. Even now we continue to make improvements to the outdoor spaces, to be posted soon or eventually!

Project last spring to make the railing above the stairs safe! decided to just use cleats and rope, thanks to the suggestion and idea of a friend! came out looking good, and functional even more than visually interesting.

Ok, this light and fan was selected and installed in the Cottage unit. It appears somewhat cheaply made, but is just wonderfully bedazzled with faux jewels and has a reliable wireless remote control to adjust fan speed, brightness and even color temperature to change from cool white to warmer amber hue. The fan keeps the cottage cool in summer and functions quietly. It was theorized that it suited the antique nature of the space nostalgic of something like an old speakeasy or gambling riverboat. I won’t skew the poll by sharing anyone’s opinion about it, but let us know, do you like this fixture for the space, Yes or No… (or other). If you have read all this you’ve gotta vote!

Ok, here are a few random items and small projects that were tackled. Slide 1 and 2: dimmable bistro lights on smart switch for ambiance on the wraparound porch. Slide 3: new outdoor lanterns on either side of the entry door. Slide 4: removed sink and prep baseboard and wall and floor for new vanity, sink and countertop. Slide 5: updated connection for new stack washer/dryer in the small laundry room on the porch. Slide 6: just a look at the cleaned out crawl space behind the original plaster and lathe of the second floor walls. Slide 7: update and repair/replace fittings for the washer/dryer at the laundry room in the basement of the cottage unit. Slide 8: just one of the many fittings that needed inspection and replacement, this one in the section of the basement with a crawl space of more that 8 inches hahaha. Slide 9: paint the tarnished brass king headboard black to match all the other black accents and make it look new again (with the help of Kobe of course). Slide 10: just a peek of trenching the main driveway for conduit to get the 100m run of fiber optic cable pulled through to the house for high speed Internet…

Shower at cottage going in, same time as the previous one last summer… the cottage has a very small shower inside, so having this one outside is excellent! Great spot to rinse off after getting back from the

Outdoor shower for the main house… bluestone drain, azek floor on pressure treated floating underlayment, cedar panels built to size by , perfect fit! They also provided the corner posts! Came out great…

Board fence and chain link were installed to create privacy and separation between the cottage and main house. A second path was created toward the pond through the gate at rear of chain link section behind the main house. The fenced private yard is great to make a pet friendly rental, the gates provide privacy, and the two new outdoor showers were installed right afterward, pics to follow soon!

knocked out four big old pines and planted a couple rows of thuja emerald greens in their place. let’s in the light and will offer some privacy before long! and looks great too.

Getting the second floor bath up to speed, with a new shower, new floor, some new fixtures and a new skylight too! also paint of course!

With painting done, it was time to start getting the furniture into place. Time to finish bath updates, and figure out how to set everything up.

Became time to do everything at once. Investigate the ancient sheds and structures on the property, replace appliances, find some relics such as the croquet set, procure grills and griddles. This was just the beginning but it was great to start making progress! The neon 🦞 sign was just a surprise bonus!!!

Some photos from the 2020 listing when the house was going to go on the market. Photos enhanced, small furniture used, fisheye makes spaces look large and grand, looks very clean. On close inspection, mostly it is lipstick on a pig, but the house still showed its awesome character and antique charm!

This is the house before we touched it, and more images, galleries, updates and videos will follow! Home is 3BR, King BR on first floor, Queen BR on second floor 2 Twin BR on second floor, and a Queen pullout in the Tavern Toom on main floor. Cottage is a King bed, kitchen and dining area, small bath, private yard. Each Rentla has a grill, outdoor shower, walk to Areys Pond, and ample privacy. Each is pet friendly, house has fully fenced back yard. House also has a propane griddle in addition to the where gas grill, it has a shuffleboard table, ping pong table outside, and a pub style video arcade game table with 3505 classic arcade games.
