Our friend Bauer has recently been struggling to find a match. We are reaching out to find people who are willing to bring their dog in for a blood draw to do crossmatching for possible donation! This is ofcourse at no cost to you. Here is an explanation of what to expect:

We are hoping to do the transfusion on Friday (2/28)
This means we are scheduling the first blood draws on Tuesday afternoon/evening, and Wednesday of this week. The first blood draw is a quick in/out appointment where we draw the blood to crossmatch. If we find a match, the next step would be to drop your doggie off to us on Friday AM for most of the day, this blood draw is done under anesthesia. Once your doggie has recovered from the anesthesia they can go home! Please let me know if you have any questions or are interested, you can message this page directly or Mandee Lagoe

STATE OF EMERGENCY DECLARATION

City of Oswego, NY

A State of Emergency is hereby declared in the City of Oswego, effective 7:00 am on February 18, 2025.

This State of Emergency has been declared due to extreme lake effect blizzard conditions, high winds, and poor visibility which has the potential to cause a strain on local emergency resources.

This State of Emergency will remain in effect until rescinded by a subsequent order.
As Mayor and Chief Executive of the City of Oswego, I. Robert A. Corradino, exercise the authority given to me under Section 24 of the New York State Executive Law, to preserve the public safety and hereby render all available assistance vital to the security, well-being, and health of the citizens of the City of Oswego.

I hereby direct all departments and agencies of the City of Oswego to take whatever steps necessary to protect life and property, public infrastructure, and provide emergency assistance deemed necessary.

Also, please note that with the State of Emergency in place, the Committee Meetings that were scheduled for this evening, are postponed until tomorrow, Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at their regularly scheduled times.

Adopt today!

This is a sad post but one we need to unfortunately make.

Because if the increased numbers of intakes over the past 3 weeks we are officially over capacity and unable to take any more rescues at this time.

This is of course devastating not only to multiple pets in need of rescue but to us who sees them and hears the requests for help and can do nothing.

Please understand the best way to help is to foster and adopt. We can only save more when room allows and without adoptions we can’t open up space for more.

We are so sorry to have to report we are closed for surrenders at this time. Thank you for understanding and hopefully soon we can reopen our doors to more pets in need!

Until then please look at our website and adopt! Save 2 lives by adopting one and making space for another to join our program.
