I was in the mood to cook something I’ve never attempted before.

I harvested some fresh clams recently from the Gulf and decided to try my hand at making clam chowder.

I made it New England style. That’s my favorite.

As usual, I looked at several recipes and just kind of made up my own thing

It turned out pretty darn good!

The Joy of cooking and creating is enhanced by using ingredients that you harvested.

(Also these clams are safe to eat. They are called Venus Sunrays and they’re the sweetest out there.)

I actually froze them a few months ago when I came upon the mother lode at a sandbar and used some of them to make linguine and just got around to using the rest today.
