I'll be honest. I don't know why so many people put up with the endless Google searches, internet reviews and overall chaos and confusion that comes with planning trips themselves.

Nail down your must-see and must-do things. Think of it as your travel safety net—no missed flights, overbooked hotels and tours or long lineups. Setting the foundation removes all the stress and FOMO of travel.

👉Flex Room
I always recommend clients leave gaps in their schedule for the unexpected. We always think we can pack more into an itinerary than we probably should. (I’m guilty!) Use those gaps for exploring and doing things that spontaneously pop up along the way — things like local festivals, hidden-away towns you’re driving through, etc.

👉Stress-Free Exploring
With your essentials covered, you can enjoy unplanned moments without worrying about missing out. You’re going in knowing that you roam freely because your wish list items are taken care of.

You’re not a cookie-cutter person, so why would you settle for a cookie-cutter vacation?

The thing about booking online using a travel website (like Expedia and Booking.com, etc.) is that you only see what they want you to see.

What if you’re missing out on the perfect resort or hotel because it’s not paying to be promoted on one of these websites? 🤯

What if I told you that this summer may not actually be the best time to take that trip to Europe?

I don’t mean to rain on anybody’s parade, but with T-Swift, the Olympics, and, well, it just being summer in Europe, this year will be crowded, pricey and a little bit wild.

If you‘re looking for a more low-key adventure, I recommend setting your sights on September and October.

During these months, the warmth of summer still lingers, but the crowds will drop drastically and, if you’re lucky, you may have a few of those “Are we the only ones here?” moments.

Hey Foodies 👋 How can you make sure you don‘t miss out on the best food spots on your next big trip?

It will all come down to a few key factors:

➡️ What comes to mind when you think of a great food experience?
Is it indulging in gourmet meals? Exploring local cuisine? Or are you more of a hands-on person who would love to learn how to cook traditional dishes? Decide what you like so you can prioritize it in your itinerary.

➡️ How long is your trip?
Do you have lots of time to explore, or just a few days? Depending on how long you‘ll be at your destination, you‘ll want to make room for the best recommendations, but leave space to stumble upon spots that may not be on Google.

➡️ Have you consulted anyone else?
Some of the best spots are found through word-of-mouth. I‘m a bit of a foodie myself, and I love researching and connecting with locals to find the best spots for my clients‘ adventures!

It wasn't quite a total eclipse here in Chicago, but, WOW, was it amazing to experience this once-in-a-lifetime event! So many across the country -- I'm looking at you, SoDak friends! -- didn't get to see the sun at all today.

We were very blessed to see it, and we knew we wanted to absorb. it. all! So we put down our phones and soaked up the eerie beauty from our backyard. For just a little bit, it was just the two of us, staring up at the vast universe, locking our sites on the same exact spot in the sky that millions of others sought to find at the very same time. WOW! I get chills just thinking back on it!

If I had been staring at it through my phone, it just wouldn't have been the same. I wouldn't have been able to unite my gaze with all those others', and I would have been preoccupied with focusing my lens, rather than focusing on my time with the one person in the entire universe with whom I'd most like to spend such a historic moment.

I think these are important sentiments to consider as you plan your next vacation. Yes, I want you to capture your adventures to look back on and share with loved ones who can't join you, but don't forget to pause and enjoy the trip fully with the one(s) who share it with you in the moment, too! I am positive you won't regret it, and that when you look back at those photos, you'll be filled with the memories of priceless, full-heart moments.
