A FIRST!

I have traveled to 30 countries around the world over the last 27+ years, to work with and meet our PowerHour clients…

I have traveled around the world on the same curated/planned trips, with our PowerHour clients…

But today was a FIRST…to converge in the same city with a PowerHour client, on the same day…while we are both traveling on separate trips! And the joy…to share our day together in Parma, Italy!

Always a pleasure Jack---to be working together with you, Christina, Shina, Kim and Nick…plus the team at Big Bear Vacations over all of these years!

Bright Futures, Helping First Generation Students Attend College

Happy to share, this is our 11th annual Live PC Give PC day of giving, where our entire community comes together and supports its wonderful non-profits.

Beyond a number of local charities and community/service groups that I have been a part of for the last 24+ years, I am most proud of being on the Board of Advisors for Bright Futures.

Bright Futures is a Park City Education Foundation program helping first generation students prepare for, succeed in and graduate from college by providing a comprehensive counseling and support system from 10th grade through to college graduation.

We make a long-term commitment, working together with each student for a total of 7 years!

Thanks to donor contributions, Bright Futures is able to provide scholarships and need based funding that helps these motivated students get to the college graduation finish-line.

In Park City, approximately 20% of students are low-income, with their parents having hourly jobs that support local tourism.

These students qualify for free and reduced lunches, a common measure of poverty within a community.We are currently working with 60 students in high school plus 48 students in college, for a total of 108 students.

Nationally, only 11% of low-income students earn a degree in four years. As of this fall, 91% of Bright Futures college students are on track and progressing toward college graduation!
