Last night was our company's end of year wrap-up call. I wanted to express my thanks to YOU for all your bookings, which placed me within the top 4% of all agents at our company. I was ranked number 8 in 2023, and now I'm number 11 (of 275 agents) in 2024. Although I'm slightly disappointed about dropping from 8 to 11 - likely due to my leave for hip replacement surgery - I'm delighted for my terrific colleagues - my good friends - who placed ahead of me. 😊 Given that 8 and 11 are my personal lucky numbers, I suppose 11 isn't so bad.

Continuing to take care of my clients this week. Some things I have done already :

2️⃣ Emailing quotes for spring vacations to Florida, summer vacations for Alaska, and fall vacations to the Caribbean and Hawaii.
3️⃣ Sending out New Year’s cards expressing appreciation to all of my clients who have traveled in 2024.

Happy for my clients who are sailing away from Miami today on a 7 day Caribbean cruise. First time cruisers reached out to me a few months ago - they knew they wanted to get on board but didn’t know the best options. I helped them select an itinerary that fit their dates and budget and also booked their flights and a pre cruise hotel stay. Everything was on one custom itinerary for them. I helped them choose the best packages for onboard pleasure - drinks and specialty dining - made their reservations - and helped them with cruise online check in and documentation. Regarding Walt Disney World - There will be some new promos to try to take advantage of for late spring and mid summer 2025 - some included dining at no cost. Sometimes I receive requests strictly based on price - “this is what I found - can you beat it or find me something better?”

Well….here’s what I say: Hi! Excited to work with you - but my price could be higher specifically because I want to ensure you are staying in a safe and well regarded resort, are not flying on a basic economy ticket on a low rated airline, and either your deposit is fully refundable or that we have added cancel for any reason travel insurance to your booking. Your investment in this trip - your time and money - is very important to me. And you’ll have me to call, text, or message before and during your trip. I’m a person - not a call center rep. The relationship is set. I’m invested in you because I never want an unhappy client.

I don’t think it’s a good practice to send my clients on a trip that is based solely on price - it should not be the only consideration. BTW I always look for any promos I can apply, even after you book with me.

9 years ago I was fortunate enough to join in on a wonderful holiday season group trip hosted by my cousin in Germany. Tonight I’m having a cup of tea with one of my collectible souvenirs - a simple but very sweet Gluhwein mug from the prettiest Christmas Market in Dresden. We also visited markets in Erfurt, Nuremberg, and Rothenburg ob der Tauber. It was such a fascinating trip. Truly one of a kind.

Maybe you’d like to do that next year? I have ideas - River cruise, Escorted tour, or Independent travel. The markets run from Thanksgiving until just before Christmas. Let me know if this is something I can work on for you.
