If I one day travel to Milan, the coffee spot I would go to is Senza Nome. I'm sure it isn't much different than the hundreds of other coffee spots in Milan. The pastries look similar from place to place, and I would imagine the cappuccinos and espressos are unremarkable. (I don't drink espresso, BTW. I am more of a cream and sugar with a little bit of coffee kind of girl). What attracts me to Senza Nome is it's location. It's not near anything touristy. That says enough for me!

Have you seen "Wonka", the 2023 adaptation of how W***y Wonka got his start in the chocolate business? Some of the musical scenes take place in a fantastic mall (bottom photo) housing several other chocolatiers. The inspiration for this set came from the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II (top photo) in Milan. It is Italy's oldest active shopping gallery and a major landmark. The Galleria is named after Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of the Kingdom of Italy.

This week I did NOT ask my son what city I should feature.😜 Instead I used a random city generator on Google. I LOVE the result: MILAN, ITALY. Many think of Milan as the Fashion Capital of Europe. Milan is also the gateway to the gorgeous lakes of Northern Italy: Lake Como, Lake Maggiore, and Lake Garda being three of the most famous. If you have been to Milan, what was your impression of the city?

When I travel, I find it hard to find a great cup of coffee. I try to scope out recommended spots in advance. Although I am not traveling to Frankfurt, I have found one of the most highly recommended cafes in town. If coffee THAT important to you?

I have to do my research to tell you more about Frankfurt. Here is one fun fact: Ebbelwoi (Apple Wine) is basically the national drink of Frankfurt and has been for 250 years. You drink Ebbelwoi from a special glass, called “Geripptes” which is covered by a distinct diamond pattern and the wine itself is poured from a grey stone stein with a blue pattern called “Bembel”.

I ask my son to name a city...so I can feature it this week. He says "Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso".🙄 I'm like...WTH??? SO I ask him to name something more normal...Frankfort, Germany. Thanks Kid. I appreciate that he knows geography, but I really don't think OUAGADOUGOU will be on many bucket lists. 😂 I love him so much! Just for grins, here is a photo from each city:
