Rebuilding my photography page feels a bit awkward on Facebook considering I used to have my own domain-dot-com but seeing as I’m not shooting professional motocross anymore there’s just no need for something as elaborate as that, at least not yet…Thank you all 🙏

Here are my images of the total eclipse (I shot 425 images both in RAW and jpeg of the entire track -these are Jpegs) I learned a lot in just a short time while preparing for this event (originally wasn’t going to shoot it because I thought I’d need a motorized solar tracker or more new equipment than I wanted to spend on it) but luckily an $85 dollar filter was all i needed to add 👍

Also, I’m honestly shocked it came out this good because I was shooting through clouds - wow.

so glad I put in the effort but most of all that I got to experience it from my driveway...so amazing.

This was shot varying between 1/125 to 1/500 sec sec at F4.5 to f8 and all at 200 iso ... I increased the saturation so you could see the prominences a little better and adjusted the black tones a bit to compensate for the coronal flare.

Herd of deer just down the street on W Indiana and Rt25 by the cemetery tonight. sun was just about set and was much darker than the images look like so I had to use 800iso and a slow shutter speed. not the sharpest but got some good inquisiative poses from the local ruminants 👍

Im looking forward to warmer days and the upcoming bird migration, I'm going to order the 2x teleconverter to increase my 400/560mm F2.8/F4 to 800/1120mm.. F5.6/F8

I'm still undecided about shooting the solar eclipse even though I'll be within the range of totality, mainly due to the damage shooting into the sun can cause to gear and I simply don't know enough about solar photography to wing it. Also the filters required are generally sold out well in advance and I haven't attempted to purchase any yet so the decision may already have been made for me... at any rate I'm looking into it more tomorrow.
