Empty iPhone Box delivery update -
UPS wouldn't do anything about it because I wasn't the sender.

I chatted then called AT&T and spent about 4 hours trying to get this resolved with them. I have NO idea if they're going to put in a claim with UPS because they're making me re-pay fees for a new iPhone, which won't be shipped to me until sometime early November.

AT&T is going to refund me the fees I paid for the first phone in 3-5 business days. They REFUSED to just transfer those fees to the new phone instead. They're unable to process the new phone transaction without payment, but when I told them I'm unable to process new phone payment without the refund, they didn't seem to care. They did expedite shipping without an extra fee but if the phone won't ship for 3-4 weeks and I was supposed to have it already, what good is that? *sigh*

My net worth as a public school educator is nowhere near the $152.6 BILLION that is AT&T's net worth, yet I have to pay them for someone else's mistake before they have to pay me.

Let's not even talk about how this is really UPS's fault because I'm 99% sure that the box was delivered empty, which means that at some point after UPS took possession of the package, someone busted into it and stole the phone.

It's resolved and I have a phone plan from early in the iPhone days that every AT&T rep has told me they can't beat so I'm kinda stuck with them.

Corporations just need to do better.

I've got a few quick trips coming up this semester so I thought I'd give flying with only a carry-on suitcase a try. So I had to put together my carry-on toiletry kit. I just have to add a toothbrush, toothpaste and few other items and it's done!

I'm not traveling until October but if I don't do it now, I may not be able to make it quite this cute!

If you missed watching Katie Ledecky swim her heat in the 1500m this morning, you have to go back and watch. The consistency of technique is incredible and watching her swim like everyone was on her heels (even though she was 15 seconds ahead of the second place swimmer) was inspiring!!

I'm sure you've seen in the US news that the UK has a new Prime Minister and the Labour Party is now in power for the first time in quite some time. My cousin Jake wrote this article that explains what it means and how things may move forward, especially when it comes to UK-EU relations. It's a very well written article and even thought I'm not the most politically knowledgeable person, I understood every bit of it. Give it a read, if you'd like!

I wrote this as a comment on Elias Haslinger's post. You'd think as a musician I could be creative enough to find a new combination of words to express my feelings but even these below were difficult to put together and they certainly don't fully express my sadness at the news of Dr. James Polk's passing.

I just don't know what to say - there are not enough words in the English language to express how grateful I was to be his student (I wasn't a good piano student, though!). He was the kindest hearted man ever and I will always appreciate our (not enough) time together!
Rest in peace, Dr. Polk.
