I echo the sentiments of our friends Nick Nicholas Gill and Marie Elena Martinez at New Worlder -- surprised, honored and delighted to see an episode from our film series Off the Table Perú being selected for the Sonoma International Film Festival. Wow!

The real stars are sibling culinary trailblazers Malena & Virgilio Martinez along with our warm, wise, wonderful Andean hosts 🙏🏼

We're thrilled (and beyond surprised) with the news that our video series Off The Table, which features the food legacies of the destinations we cover, has been honored as an Official Selection of the 2019 Sonoma International Film Festival after debuting last year at Devour The Food Film Fest. The episode being honored features Malena + Virgilio Martínez Véliz. Congrats to our film makers/partners WhereNext and Culture Xplorers! If you want to check out our Off the Table series, which visited Chile, Catalonia/Spain and Peru when it originally aired, you can find it here: https://www.newworlder.com/off-the-table

This culinary exchange series is going to be a blast and most important -- will make a meaningful difference in the lives of nearly 100 families in the high Andean community of Viacha.

All proceeds from Peru Meets the Prairie will go to a life-changing Peruvian non-profit, Por Eso, which works to combat malnutrition in over a dozen high-altitude communities via the construction of vegetable gardens and greenhouses, the installation of clean water systems and cook stoves and provide the training, classes, and tools to foster long-term community independence. (More on Por Eso in a future post).

Based on the 1st two days of sales, tickets will sell out quickly, so if you're thinking of joining us this June - jump on it now!
