Today is National Cosmopolitan Day and I’m raising a glass to the pretty-in-pink cocktail that’s stirred up quite a bit of mystery.

Was it born in Provincetown’s gay bars? Sparkled to life in San Francisco? Mixed to fame at The Odeon in NYC? Or did S*x and the City make it iconic? No one really knows—but does it matter when it tastes this good?

A sweet-and-tart blend of vodka, triple sec, cranberry juice, and lime, the Cosmo is one of my go-to cocktails—from happy hour or sunsets all the way to last call. 🍸

The Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, which date back to 2nd Century AD, is a historical archaeological site located in Alexandria, Egypt, and is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages.

Alexandria was a stop on my 16-day Egypt tour (March 17- April 1, 2025) and this was a must-see on my list.

Hello!

I’m Danielle Lewis. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and from as far back as I can remember I have always dreamed of traveling to foreign capitals and far-flung exotic places. And as soon as I began working full-time and saving, I started traveling by planes, trains, or automobiles. Whatever was necessary to get me to where I wanted to go.

My travelogue is as follows: I’ve stayed at least two nights in 44 of the 50 US States, five major cities in Canada, several Central and South American countries, a few African nations, numerous European and SE Asian cities and towns in 40+ countries including a 3-month stay in Australia and New Zealand, all covering six continents. Also, I’ve taken three 7-night cruises to the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, the Mexican Riviera, and one 12-day cruise and land tour to Alaska.

Yet, in my 30+ years of extensive travel, most of it has been solo.
