My welding lens+camera didn't capture the eclipse but I could see it ... Ginger came up early to eat but it's probably not because of the eclipse but rather she saw me out back, thought "hey Mom, you look bored, wanna feed me?" 🀣🀣

Hello everyone!! Thought I'd share my adventure to Mobile Al ...
We stayed at the historic Fort Conde Inn. It's a beautiful place to stay and it's walking distance to old town Mobile.
Personally, I give the Inn. 4.5 rating⭐⭐⭐⭐1/2. They lose .5 is because the windows are painted shut (made this country girl a little claustrophobic).
The wheelchair, however, gives the Inn a 3.0.⭐⭐⭐

The room was spacious enough for moving around and the doorways were nice and wide and it even had an electric fireplace!!
Unfortunately, even though we were in the handicap room, the bathroom sink was so high that I could rest my chin on it without any effort! Lol. Of course, since the sink was so high, the bathroom mirror was a view of the ceiling for me. I typically bring a hand held mirror but forgot it so I had to use the mirror in the hall for makeup and hair. πŸ™„
Entering the hotel was a bit challenging and I honestly couldn't do it without a push from behind. It had a double threshold so you had to get the back wheels up a 2" step while getting the front wheels up a 1" step.
The courtyard that we went through to get to the room was lovely but consisted of large tile with gravel slots between the tiles. The key to maneuvering was watching where your front wheels were.
Lastly, and I did submit a suggestion, the property actually has several buildings including a Bistro, unfortunately there are no curb cuts on the sidewalk so going to any of the other buildings required a little street walking. Lol Hopefully, since they own the land, they'll rectify that oversight.
Would I stay there again?? πŸ‘πŸ‘

State and Federal parks are great travel destinations when traveling with a wheelchair.

Hey everybody ... It's been over a year since I posted and I truly apologize for that. Unfortunately, at this time, there are no plans to shoot another episode of Rollin with Kristine ... πŸ˜₯ ... Both the cost of production and finding a production team made it an unreachable dream.
However, that doesn't mean I'm not rollin along and doing stuff so I thought I'd share my farm activities.
Recently we replaced a retaining wall and thus need to landscape. Our first order of business was putting down 3 pallets of sod. How'd Kristine participate, you ask?
Well, Don brought the sod pieces in a wheelbarrow and plopped them down then I'd slide them in to place, fit the seams, and cut edge as needed. And, since I was down there, if I spotted a w**d, I'd pull it and throw it in the white bucket.
Hard work but lovely results!!
Stay tuned for my next entry .... New wall crushed house drain pipe!! 😱
