Quilt Trail Project beginnings...

The EDC-FTA Quilt Trail Project began on a lark when Linda George went to a presentation by “Barn Quilts Across America” author, Suzi Parron, then afterwards visited Renee’ Hargrove (former executive director, El Dorado County Farm Bureau), on the very same day Renee’ was reading a California Boutiful Magazine article on Lake County’s Barn Quilt Trail...inspiration was ignited!! The EDC Farm Bureau was supportive of the project, so Renee’ and Linda began the conversation, five other charter members hopped on board and their work to bring a barn quilt trail to El Dorado County began. About a year later, the ‘project’ was adopted by the El Dorado County Farm Trails Association and it is thriving today, blending art and agri-tourism for all to enjoy. The Quilt Trail Project’s charter members are: Christa Campbell, Linda George, Renee’ Hargrove, Jane Harris, Janet Kanter-Purcell, Nancy Malick and Cathie Urquhart.
