WINTER WEATHER UPDATE 1/9/2025 - 9 AM

Snow is currently falling in Plano.

🚗 ROAD CONDITIONS
Our City crews have deployed and are addressing issues on our roads as conditions change. Don't drive if you can avoid it. If you have to drive, remember: Ice and snow, take it slow – slower speed, slower acceleration, slower steering, and slower braking. Be extra cautious on bridges and overpasses – they freeze first because there is no ground underneath to insulate them.

🏫 FACILITY UPDATES
- The Municipal Center is open.
- The Plano Animal Shelter closes at noon.
- All Recreation facilities will close at 9 a.m. today and remain closed through the remainder of the day. Decisions regarding Friday closures will be made before close of business today.
- All Library locations are closed.
- The Day Labor Center is closed.
- Customer and Utility Services is closed to walk-in customers. Staff are available to assist by phone. Please consider using the City’s online tool to pay your water bill: ecop.plano.gov/CUS/
- Thursday and Friday dockets at the Municipal Court are closed and the affected cases will be reset.

💧 EMERGENCY WATER LEAKS
Should you need to report a water leak, call Public Works Customer Service (7 AM-10 PM) at 972-769-4160 or the Ridgeview Pump Station (10 PM-7 AM) at 972-769-1623.
Should you need to shut off water to your home or business, follow these instructions: Plano.gov/WinterPrep

♨️ WARMING STATION
The Plano Overnight Warming Station is open all day today, located at EPIC. Bus pickup is between 6:30 and 9:30 PM at the DART Parker Road Station. The Warming Station doors close at 10 PM. No one will be admitted after 10 PM unless they are accompanied by Plano Police Department or Plano Fire-Rescue personnel. For more information visit planows.org.

REMEMBER THE 4 P's:
• Protect PEOPLE – Keep warm, dress in layers. Check on your friends, family and neighbors.
• Protect PETS – Bring pets inside to keep them warm and safe. If you’re cold, they are too. If you know of an animal being kept outdoors without appropriate shelter, call Plano Animal Services at (972) 769-4360.
• Protect PLANTS – Bring potted plants inside. Cover outdoor plants with cloth fabric.
• Protect PIPES – Cover outdoor pipes. Steadily drip faucets. Open cabinet doors to allow air to circulate. Turn off your irrigation system.
