Below is a conversation I had with three young men. One is a college student visiting during his Christmas break, and the other two are his friends and his brother, who were also out for a night walk. They’ve been observing the drones every evening, and this is what they had to say about it.

Netflix’s planned production facility at the former Fort Monmouth site in Eatontown and Oceanport, New Jersey, is poised to significantly boost local economies, including nearby beach communities. The development is approximately 16 to 17 miles from Point Pleasant Beach, translating to a 20- to 25-minute drive.

This proximity suggests that the influx of production crews and visitors could benefit local businesses such as airports, rental properties, restaurants, stores, and beach-related services, contributing to the revitalization of surrounding areas.

Great place Pop’s cornor Restaurant and Bakery - Point Pleasant Beach

Pop’s Restaurant and Bakery on Arnold Avenue is a fantastic spot for breakfast and lunch in Point Pleasant Beach. They offer a great menu filled with high-quality options, and while the prices reflect the quality, their rewards program makes it even better—visit five times and you’ll get 25% off anytime you go back, whether for food, takeout, or their bakery treats.

The father-son duo, Bruce and Brian, are often there, adding a personal touch to the experience. Their warmth and hospitality make you feel right at home and add to the charm of this local gem.

13 drones last night…. Nothing to worry about we are told.
Report to:

New Jersey Office of Homeland Security Counter Threat Watch Unit (NJOHSP)
• Phone: 1-866-4-SAFE-NJ (1-866-472-3365)
• Email: [email protected]

Residents are encouraged to report any unusual or suspicious drone activity to local law enforcement first and then to NJOHSP’s Counter-Threat Watch Unit. Providing details such as the time, location, number of drones, and any noticeable patterns in their movements

Over the past several days, residents of Ocean County, particularly in Point Pleasant Beach, have noticed an unsettling increase in drone activity. These drones are not hobbyist toys—they are large, hovering for extended periods, and seem to follow specific flight paths, including over homes, lakes, and even the ocean.

What’s more troubling is the lack of action or answers from authorities. When I reported the issue to the police, I was told there was “nothing they could do” and that I should call the FBI. When state police were engaged, one officer admitted to following the drones but broke off because he didn’t know what they were. How is it possible that with all the technology and resources available, we can’t identify or address what’s flying over our skies?

Last night, I saw drones hovering over the water tower and near Lake of the Lilies. I called the police and told them to simply step outside their station, look up, and see for themselves. The response? Indifference. No one investigated. No one checked. No one took any action. These drones violate local ordinances prohibiting unauthorized flights, yet there are no consequences.

If these drones are flying west to east, why aren’t they intercepted over the ocean? Why aren’t they brought down so we can find out who’s operating them and why? It’s frustrating to see reports flooding in from concerned residents only to have authorities dismiss them. If our local law enforcement won’t enforce their own drone ordinances, what’s the point of having them?

This isn’t just a minor nuisance—it’s a safety concern, a privacy issue, and a serious failure of accountability. What are these drones doing? Who’s responsible for them? And why is no one doing anything about it?

It’s time for answers. If you’ve seen these drones, report them and demand action. We deserve transparency and a solution to this growing problem.
