OUR STORY! Many of you know us as The Bungalow vacation home but did you know how our story began? Read below!
Local contractor, Ben Taylor, and his wife, Courtney Taylor, had the opportunity to save an abandoned home from its original location in the Rottunda Way development (South Sioux City). The owners at the time wanted to build a new home in its place so Ben and Courtney jumped at the chance and were successfully able to relocate the home to its current spot in Ponca, Nebraska. A spacious basement was created and the original structure was remodeled from the inside out!
Meanwhile, Bryce Book, Ponca native, and his wife, Britney Book, had been searching for the perfect property to kickstart their dream of owning a vacation home. When they found out about Ben and Courtney's project, they knew it was meant to be! Bryce's grandmother (Betty Stark) previously lived two houses over from the home and Britney's great grandmother (Agnes Kneifl Long) previously lived five houses over. The rest, as they say, is history! On January 20, 2023, Bryce and Britney closed on The Bungalow and spent the following three weeks preparing the home for its first Airbnb guests. One year later, they are still happily welcoming guests from all over the U.S.A. ☺
