The Jet Express is excited to welcome you aboard one of our FOUR high-speed catamaran vessels. We pride ourselves in providing consistent, timely, and fast transportation to your island vacation destinations. The Put-in-Bay Boat Line Company (The Jet Express) was founded by four partners in 1988 with the vision of an innovative ferry service to the Lake Erie islands that would provide late-night p

assage to numerous Lake Erie destinations, outstanding customer service, and become the fastest ferry boat line on the Great Lakes. Our Jet Express ferry fleet currently consists of Four vessels: Jet Express I, II, III, and IV. Jet Express I and II are the largest of the fleet, prominently featured on our main Port Clinton to Put-in-Bay route. They can carry almost 400 passengers per trip at speeds up to 42 mph! Jet Express III & IV are our smaller, yet unique vessels. Jet Express III was built to accommodate our Sandusky route, and is the smallest of the four vessels. Jet Express IV was originally apart of the NY Waterway fleet as the M/V Monmouth. This vessel and her crew served in the emergency sealift during the events of 9/11. She now is outfitted for our excursions! These beautiful vessels are well kept, cleaned, and maintained by our expert team of Mechanics and Captains. Over the years, The Jet Express has evolved into one of the premier family-oriented travel attractions in Ohio, providing excellent service and safe, fun, and fast passage across Lake Erie. We strive every day to not only maintain this degree of quality, but to improve it.

Welcome Aboard the Jet Express!

The Put-in-Bay Boat Line Company (The Jet Express) was founded by four partners in 1988 with the vision of an innovative ferry service to the Lake Erie islands. One that provided late-night passage to Put-in-Bay, outstanding customer service, and one to become the fastest ferry line on the Great Lakes.

The company began operation in the spring of 1989 with a single vessel, a new $3.2 million high-speed catamaran, the M. V. Jet Express. More vessels were added to our fleet over the years, including the Jet Express II (1992), the Jet Express III (2002), and the Jet Express IV (2009.)

The Jet Express has expanded service from just the original Port Clinton to Put-In-Bay route.
