Cape San Blas has world class beaches but sometimes you just want to go to a pool! William J “Billy Joe” Rish State Park at 6773 Cape San Blas Rd has an Olympic size pool. It’s free with a state park pass or $6 for a carload of 8 guests or $2 for one person on a bike. Just about a mile away on the bike path from A Tropical Breeze, it’s a great amenity on the Cape that is under used but well kept.

They also have lots of covered picnic tables, a wheelchair ramp to the beach and I think I saw beach wheel chairs but no lifeguards.

When you buy a daily pass it’s also good for a visit to St Joseph State Park on the same day. Enjoy!!

While trying to makes its way to the water, a baby sea turtle fell into a hole in the sand on the beach.

It was found alive this morning by the Indian Pass Sea Turtle Patrol, removed from the hole and then released into the water.

This underscores the importance of, after enjoying a day on the beach, to fill in any holes made while playing on the beach.
