Celebrating National Doctor Day!
Doctors’ Day is an annual observance aimed at appreciating physicians who help save our lives everywhere. The holiday first started in 1933 in Winder, Georgia, and since then it’s been honored every year on March 30 which was the first anniversary of a doctor using ether anesthesia by Dr. Crawford W. Long. Today, we continue to celebrate medical advances like these and thank all doctors everywhere who’ve spent so much time and energy mastering their field of expertise.

National Vietnam War Veterans Day! Today, we commemorate those who fought in the Vietnam War. There’s no doubt that the Vietnam War was one of the most brutal. In fact, there were over three million Vietnam War casualties during the years of battle. National Vietnam War Veterans Day was created to honor all the Vietnam veterans who fought during its time. Whether they were on the frontline or not, you may have parents or grandparents that served or were directly or indirectly involved in this wartime. Not everyone is comfortable talking about their time in the war, but some people enjoy sharing what they went through as a way to vent and cope. Listen to your parents’ or grandparents’ stories — you may learn something interesting about them. Thank you to all of the brave soldiers who defended our country and our freedom; those who are gone will forever be remembered.

There’s no getting around it, food on a stick is fun. As far as candy apples, creamsicles, shish kabobs, and teriyaki chicken on a stick are concerned, today is the day to chow down! What do you do with a popsicle stick, or a corn dog stick, or a shish kabob skewer, when you’re done eating? Toss it. How to stand up against bullying:
Address the issue- Talk to kids about bullying and teach them how to stand up to it. Go ahead and share your experience with bullying, share examples of people who stood up to bullies, and how your kids can do the same.
