She’s off. On a misty foggy morning the old Rescue 29-61 heads to the Union Volunteer Fire Department in CT to start her second life. We wish you good luck and many years of service with her. And Then There Were None
585 the last of Syosset’s 2007 Fleet of 5 Pierce Dash Engines leaves for the last time a few weeks ago, headed for her new assignment. She did not have far to go as she is staying in the county but in a different battalion with the Mineola FD. This concluded the surplussing of 5 old rigs for the Syosset Fire District. We started this journey over two years ago when they decided to replace all 5 engines and a 2005 Heavy Rescue. We were fortunate enough to get the opportunity to sell 4 of the 5 engines (they already had an agreement to sell 587 to the East Williston FD, another nearby Dept) and the Heavy Rescue. It was a long journey but all the trucks were sold before the new ones came in and are now all at their new assignments. We want to thank the Syosset Fire District and especially district manager Jack Randazzo for working with us. It was a pleasure working with all of you and getting to know all of you.

The old 814 (1996 Pierce Lance 1500/750) on her last 21 out of the county on her way to port of Baltimore to be shipped to her new home with Cuerpo de Bomberos de La Higuera in Chile. Congratulations to them and we wish you the best of luck with her and thank you as well as Fire Trucks Chile for your business. We would also like to thank the Village of East Williston Fire Department for working with us we appreciate your business. Special thanks to the Roslyn Highlands FD for hosting her while her transportation was finalized.
