“We’ve been on many guided tours in our travels and we can honestly say that Damon is the best tour guide we’ve ever had. His fun, easygoing, and passionate approach towards the city of Portland and the Waterfall Corridor is inspiring. As soon as the tour started, we immediately fell in love with Portland and we knew we made the right decision to go with Peak Adventures! He’s *extremely* knowledgeable and engaging; he’s got all the facts about the different waterfalls we visited, the Columbia gorge, the engineering behind the roads leading up to the sights, state history, geography, scientific trivia… including old legends, myths, and fascinating stories behind the mountains and rivers! He’s a wealth of information and he enthusiastically shared these on the drive to each of our destinations that it made us truly appreciate everything we’re seeing even more. Are you seeking a paid adventure in 2024?

Peak Tours and Transit was blessed with a successful first year and continues to grow. We are adding two to three tour guides to our team for our upcoming 2024 tourist season, February through November, with most tours taking place June through October. Even a one-day-per-week commitment is acceptable.

We are a small, family-owned business, and we try to work with our tour guides in a way that satisfies their personal, professional objectives.

We need both walking tour guides and driving tour guides.

Walking tour guides must feel comfortable speaking to a visiting group and leading them around downtown, navigating the public landscape with all that it brings. Similar experience preferred. (Performers and teachers welcome!) Familiarity with downtown is preferred.

Drivers must feel comfortable driving while simultaneously giving tour information over a headset. You must have experience driving large vehicles. (In this case, you will drive a 14-passenger Ford Transit van.) You must have a clean driving record with no red flags for insurance. Ability to hike 3 miles is a bonus, although most of our tours do NOT involve hiking. Wine and/or beer knowledge is a super-bonus.

Tour guides are paid as contractors and receive 1099s at the end of the year. Pay is $15-25 per hour, plus tips. (The hourly pay depends on the tour and the number of guests.)

We put together a video the Peak Tours and Transit website, showcasing some of the beautiful locations we visit. We didn't pre-plan the video, we simply used footage we already had. Next we'd like to shoot video with the intention of creating a video ad. Meanwhile, we like how this one turned out! Let us know what you think.
