Rethinking Resolutions: The Quiet Challenge
What if your resolution this year wasn’t about doing more, but about doing less? 🌿

Challenge yourself to simply be—to sit quietly with yourself, no distractions, no to-do list. It sounds simple, but for many of us, it’s one of the hardest things to do. Why? Because stillness often brings up feelings we’ve been avoiding—anxiety, nervousness, or even restlessness. But leaning into that discomfort is where growth begins.

💡 Start Small:
Begin with just 2 minutes of quiet time a day. Set a timer, close your eyes, and breathe deeply.
Gradually increase the time each week, aiming for 5, 10, or even 15 minutes.
If sitting still feels overwhelming, try focusing on a single sound, like a ticking clock or the rustling of leaves, to anchor your mind.

✨ Happy New Year, Purple friends! A bunch of you are new here, so I figured it's time for a little reintroduction! ✨

I’m Michelle—a corporate HR & IT leader turned psilocybin facilitator, retreat host, and wellness enthusiast. After 20+ years navigating big global change programs (and living in Holland for 18 of them—yes, I speak fluent Dutch 🇳🇱), I made a BIG pivot, seeking more connection, purpose, and peace in my life.

In 2019, I discovered psilocybin, and WOW… let’s just say my life hasn’t been the same since. Through some deeply transformational experiences (including an unforgettable encounter with faith that shook me to my core), I realized my mission: to help others on their self-healing journey.

Today, through Tree of Life Facilitation Services and Purple City Retreats here in beautiful Portland, OR 🌲, I guide people toward purpose-driven, peaceful lives with tools like psilocybin, hot and cold contrast therapy, wellness experiences, and time in nature. Oh, and yes, I love a good sauna and cold plunge combo—and chocolate and ice cream still have a hold on me. 🍫🍦

I’m also a proud mom of two amazing daughters, Emma & Anneke (almost an empty nester—send tips! 😅) and live with my partner Philip. When I’m not hosting retreats, you can find me hiking the PNW trails, planning my next adventure (34 countries and counting ✈️), or cozying up with a good book & an oat milk latte because FALL IS LIFE 🍁.

And as we step into a new year, I’m thrilled to share something I’ve been working on— my podcast, BEYOND THE DOSE, is launching at the end of January! 🎙️ It’s a space where we’ll dive deep into healing, personal growth, and designing a purpose-filled life.
