Walkin' on water!
One of my most memorable wildlife encounters on the beaches of the Amazon rainforest.

Sometimes when you go fishing, you might catch an alligator, or it might catch you... This catch was no exception. This Brazilian Alligator (caiman) hooked himself on our line three times. The smart fellow would wait for us to catch a peacock bass... Once on the line, he would swim over and eat the live fish right off the lure. The first two times he successfully gobbled the fish and managed to not get hooked very long. The last time, however, he swam 200 meters to come over to our side of the lagoon - again. Destiny was in his own hands (feet). He snapped at the fish and wouldn't let go. Ironically, the fish never came unhooked either. He pulled us around the lagg for about 20 minutes before he decided to let go of the fish (along with the hook). Then, he swam away "happily ever after." Fun times. P.S. I added the pic of Rick in the tree. Although we didn't catch the alligator that way, it goes to show the great effort Amazon anglers go to catch a big fish. Happy fishing.
