Loving LIFE

That’s a Wrap! Thank you to all who made the NECPA 2024 “Game On” EXPO great! We could not do it without the amazing support of the Board of Directors, Education Partners, Sponsors, Exhibitors, Members and Attendees! Over 40 exhibitors and 100 retail and fabricator shops were able to join us!

Last month’s events were amazing. Jennifer of CSA crowned me the “Events Queen” and I was super honored.

I started my company wow almost 11 years ago to do good work and be there for my family and friends when they needed me.

Last year they needed me and I of course always need and treasure them!

Thank you God above for the incredible work you do by us and with us.

A big thanks to CSA for hiring me and organizing this event, GMRI for finding me and bringing me into the fold, NASA…for inspiring and supporting this work and SciStarter for all you do (and action packed blog post below).

Shout out to all the board members, sponsors, volunteers, venues, staff, team at ASU town of Tempe for welcoming all of us (about 400 attendees in total) the attendees, speakers and presenters from all around the globe.

Also thank you to my family and team for supporting me where ever I am!

Lots of love! Liv

Last week was super exciting for Liv for Events! We were able to help Maine’s Pine Tree Boy Scouts of America come together to celebrate the Scouts, raise money and hear remarks from Girl Scout and Senator Collins. A huge thank you to the talented Amie Marzen for being the dynamic on-site force to help support this amazing cause and organization. Thank you to all the staff, board members, sponsors, speakers, volunteers and vendors for making it a success! Thank you especially to Matt and Bill for making us part of thier event!

As promised here is another virtual event gem from the month of May (one of mom's favorites). Joseph Kerski of ESRI's talk on: Mapping, analyzing, and communicating citizen science information using field tools, web GIS, dashboards, and story map.

Insider Info. So a talented team of AV professionals, and my first virtual client and I realized if we recorded the presentation in advance (even on zoom) we would be able to edit out a lot of the distractions in zoom (spotty internet, audio blips, sharing and unsharing) so the attendee could focus on the presentation and in my mind reduce the audience anxiety a bit. We all sit on the edge of our chair when a frame freezes in a live event. Pre-recording the presentation helps alleviate that.

I continued to use this method for the CitSciVirtual Plenary events including this one.

Another tip: When recording I noticed Joseph because he was working using multiple screens wasn't always looking at the camera. When ever I see or think of something (in life or professionally I try to take action on it). I stopped Joseph and he was able to continue looking at the camera. Can you tell where this begins?

A huge thank you to the editing team at AV Technik. I could not have produced these events without them.

And thank you to CSA for hiring me to put these events together!

After 170 virtual events this month I wanted to share some of them with you!

Sylvia Acevedo is force. She was a rocket scientist, author, tech exec and speaker. We were so moved in the recording room after her talk I wanted to speak with her for hours. As a fellow Mexican-American (something I talk little about because I felt so privileged to have access to super high quality education and didn’t get the discrimination my immigrant Dad experienced) I was even more taken by her story.

She was the closing speaker at CitSciVirtual a month long virtual conference my company along with our av tech partner, lots of volunteers and an amazing CSA staff was able to produce.

The talk is about 30 minutes and Q&A about 45.

Enjoy and thank you Citizen Science Association (CSA) for choosing us to help lead this project!
